I knew about the room tax going up, but the sales tax rise is news to me. :( Oh well, I suppose it's just 0.35%

the talk of postcards is interesting... we sent some the first time we went in 2006, and all we did is go to the Luxor gift shop - they sorted us out with the correct stampage needed, and there was a postbox right next to the check-in desks... (about 10metres away from the gift shop)

I wonder if the system has changed for sending postcards... or whether they just make it a bit more difficult now?

I asked in the Luxor gift shop and the business centre in April this year and was told they no longer do international postage stamps.

    Hi from Encore

sales tax increase from today to 8.1% and room tax to 12%
Hope you enjoy your stay, we did!! Watch out for the astro turf around the pool it was hot enough when it May, but July:eek: Mind, a nice swim up to the centre bar at the European pool and having a nice cocktail or 2 to self induce a snooze seems like a nice idea right now:beer:
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

For those of you interested in checking out the pinball museum as I am, check before you travel as they are moving home shortly...

"The little-known gem that is the Pinball Hall of Fame Museum will be moving closer to the Strip.
Run by Tim Arnold and the Las Vegas Pinball Collectors Club, the current Trop location holds the world's largest pinball collection -- all in working order and ready to play by the public.
The 1,200 machines will be moved to 1610 E. Tropicana, at a warehouse in the same development as the Liberace Museum. The new warehouse is double the size of the current location.
The new location is expected to open within the next 3 months.
The museum will continue to be non-profit and operates on donations. Any extra quarters over their monthly budget is donated to the Salvation Army."

Thank you SO much for this...we were planning on going and are less than 3 months (just)...so will keep an eye out for the grand reopening.

But surely they can do the US version of franking for them? At least I know they can at Bally's and Caesars - sure we've done it at Excalibur before too.

Hi all, just booked a helicopter tour to the Grand Canyon, and after a bit of scouring found a 10% off code for papillon and Grand Canyon Helicopters.

I don't know if this has been posted before, but here it is

10% off papillon and grand canyon helicopters:

    Code: WMPA

I've been fishing around for more info on this as I hadn't read it elsewhere.

Apparently the increase in sales tax was deferred in April for 2 years until 2011.
