Have a look at Fat Wallet HERE as well as www.smartervegas.com Check the last few pages as Page 1 is no longer updated.

I would consider staying in at least 2 hotels if not 3 if you are going to be there for 2 weeks. A budget of £1000 or $1640 is an average of $117 and is easily doable. However be aware that Vegas hotel rates typically double or more Friday and Saturday nights.

Come back with some hotels you are interested in and the rates, preferably in $$, and we can advise further.

or do what im doing and spend the weekend in LA to avoid the price hike and to see more of the area
last time i went i went down to San diego/mexico
quite a contrast the poverty there compared to the bellagio

Yes I saw that a couple of days ago, but it wasn't confirmed at the time. That end of the strip will be manic with the fight and the Killers (12000 capacity) at the same time.

At the moment I still have Paris and Bally's booked for that date.

Remember I booked for the Friday and they wouldn't let me cancel the Friday and arrive on the Saturday? The reason is that they are closed to Saturday arrivals.

I didn't cancel the reservation and decided to hold off in case they opened up to Saturday arrivals. The only other 2 dates I found that were closed to Saturday arrivals were 4 July and 5 September. Been monitoring 4 July and that has now opened so I am hoping for the same for 19 September.

    Hi Luci,

Get you decide on The Killers yet?

We're just from from Hyde Park - what a show!!

Looking forward to Vegas but need to get myself into gear & decide about flights/accomodation!!

No problem at all in using codes and the FW and SmaterVegas links usually link direct to the hotel.

Some of the MGM codes say they are for Player's Club members, but I have never been asked to show my card. If you are not a member and are concerned just sign up at the Player's Club and get your card before checking in.

    Ok thanks Luci much appreciated.

we've been for 3 nights before but tacked onto a trip to see family in the US...we enjoyed being in Vegas, but not how we felt like we just didn't have any time to do the things we wanted to do...no way would we do that long of a flight just for 2 nights in Vegas...well, unless it was the ONLY way we could get to Vegas in a given year. I normally spend the last full day a bit sad that we're leaving and dreading the long flight home - so only being there 2 nights would be rather tortuous for me I think...again, unless it was the only way we could do Vegas. With the price of flights being what it is, I can't justify going for that short of a time I don't think.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

    Anyone flown from Cardiff before?

So is the Paris Hotel better than Planet Hollywood hotel?

I do that every month, rather than using my holiday allowance from work in say 2 chunks of 2 weeks or so, I take a long weekend each month. That way I know theres only another 4 weeks before I am back there... :)
