I was also wondering if i could get the same rate through the hotel itself somehow - it's not on their website, so i could cancel if any better deals came up?
any thoughts - info on other hotel deals would be very much appreciated
They do have a best rate guarantee, but not sure if they would take UK websites rates? And if they did, what exchange rate they would use. To access the best rate guarantee you would book Paris direct - then within 4 hours make a best rate guarantee claim following the instruction on their website here:
http://www.harrahs.com/best-rate-guarantee.html
I suppose you could try it - so long as the booking with Paris direct was refundable, you could cancel if they didn't honour the rate you found in the UK...though I suppose that the 3rd party rate you are seeing now may change. If it were me, I would email a screenshot of the 3rd party rate as they require and a screenshot of the current exchange rate (from bbc, xe.com, etc) and do the math for them.
It does seem a bit expensive for Paris but looking at the various offers out there (LCI, Friends and Family, Hot Deals) it seems to beat them.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

I've replied to your other thread - check out www.SmarterVegas.com
You are going to love this road trip. Our first was in 1990 for 4 weeks with our two sons - 6 yr old and 16 month old at that time. It was fantastic and we've been coming back whenever we can. We've gone to different places but do go back to places we've really liked. So much to see and do.
Cheers0 -
The Bellagio FountainsMSE time share? :rotfl:
I love Vegas but I can honestly say I wouldn't want to live there all the time. Can you imagine going to work in the heat? It would lose it's shine I think. Now maybe someone a couple of hours away so I could make it at least a weekend every month
I'd love to emigrate but there's no way would OH would go (can't very well leave him here)....Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -

Thanks for all your replies
Ratkarth - no not dead set on staying there - it's just it's my first time to vegas and first (long awaited) road trip so I'm a bit nervous about getting something sorted. Money is a bit tight but we would still like to stay somewhere nice.
thanks ferf - might try that but as I said above i am open to other hotels if there are better deals available and they are good - so i'll check out those sites.
malid - your itinery looks great! Hope you have a fab time too!
I have already booked a rim lodge for the grand canyon as a special treat for myself. We are going to have 3 full days in san fran - i'm guessing there will be lots to do and see! What did you think of the place in Bishop and the MGM?
thanks again0 -
Hi
Well get back last Sunday after 2 nights in Beverly Hills, 4 in Orange County and then 8 nights in Vegas. I will try and do a trip report honest (that’s if I can remember what happened).
Anyway I’ve seen a few comments on clubs and I just wanted to say that the clubs in Vegas are great (I don’t go clubbing over here though). A couple of points though, firstly do not get those passes that they try to sell you on the street they are a rip off and a waste of time, if you see the VIP line at Pure you will know why, also if you go past the club you want to go to in the day or a few days before go and ask for the passes yourself (they normaly have someone outside the club in the day taking table bookings) and they will either give you them for free or put you on the guestlist. Secondly, plan what clubs you want to go to and what day (so that you can get yourself on the gusetlist) then if it’s a popular place like Pure get there for when it opens so you wont have to queue too much, they fill up real fast and its not like places over here where its empty for the first couple of hours. Try to go to clubs in the week as its not as busy and cheaper to get in, even with those passes its $30 to get into Pure on a Friday after 12 for a guy (was free for my gf).
Also we stayed at the MGM on the buffet offer that also included 2 passes to either Tabu or Studio 54, although we didn’t need it as if you went in before 12 and showed your room key you got in for free anyway.
Oh and we were pretty close to selling our house and buying a business in OC last year and also have that feeling of being at home in the states so I’ll join that club as well (I doubt if it’s a club more of a therapy group ‘MSE’s Las Vegas Anonymous’!)0 -
The Bellagio FountainsI don't think I would want to live in Vegas all the time...certainly not in the summer...not a chance. For us I think it would lose some of it's appeal if we lived there...plus we'd be broke if we had all those slots so closeby all the time.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

Our mutual friend Norm tells me that you get used to the heat. There are also a lot of deals for residents. They regularly get free show tickets and free play at their local casino. I think I could manage that.:j:j0 -

I love Norm, and I have no doubt that some people get used to the heat...I am quite certain that Jamie and I would not...it gets above 25 here and we're very *phew* it's quite warm, isn't it?.The freebies do sound attractive, though! And possibly we would be able to control ourselves with the slots if we knew they were always there. We have said if we win the lottery we would look into buying an apartment or condo there...so maybe one day!
