The Bellagio Fountainsthank you, would it be possible to walk the length of the strip or is it just too long?
This is a link to my post with the distances on it. The "strip" is 4 miles from Mandalay Bay to the Stratosphere. I wouldn't recommend walking it in the summer time. It is far too hot!

does anyone know roughly how much flights will cost i have done a check and have found virging doing some for about 350 is this realistically the cheapest we will get them for? thanks x
ps sorry for all my posts:jHas saved so much money since joining this forum, thanks to all you kind people out there :j0 -
The Bellagio Fountainsok so far i have been researching and looking at reviews and i am thinking of these and if people could give me opinions of them
treasure island
planet hollywood
mandalay bay
caesars palaca
monte carlo
i like the look of either planet holly wood or treasure island, knowing my luck these are the worse ones lol. thanks in advance to anyone who replies.xx
I would knock Monte Carlo off that list - it doesn't really fit with the others, caters to an older crowd than you are and is in the middle of a load of coonstruction.
Of those you listed, we've only stayed at Caesars which on average is probably the most expensive and plush of the 4...it's a lovely place, the basic rooms are not very nice based on reports here and elsewhere, but anything other than a classic/standard room you would be happy with I think...not many great views from Caesars though.
I haven't stayed at the others but would think any would be perfectly acceptable...PH and Caesars are the most centrally located which may be worth considering given the heat...but then again, MB is at the far south end of the strip, but monorail to Excalibur, bridge to NYNY...so you can actually go farther without setting foot outside.
Treasure Island was recently sold - no idea if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but both TI and PH would be on their own slot club...so if you gamble, you wouldn't earn any points at any other casinos...whereas Caesars and Mandalay Bay are both part of bigger groups.
You could also check hotel rates here for Caesars (in theory should be a member of one of the group of UK casinos though):

Assuming Virgin direct from Gatwick that's a very good price I think (even moreso if it includes a leg from Birmingham or elsewhere)...some aren't happy with the planes they generally fly on that route (quite old and worn), others prefer to go direct and not make a connection...personal preference really...but that seems quite a good price.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

I really like the rooms based on these photos...I would stay there a night to try it out, but being so close to Bally's as our home base, we usually go further afield if we're going to have a 'to try it' night somewhere.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
that price is direct from london gatwick, how would you fly and make sure you got a newer plane?:jHas saved so much money since joining this forum, thanks to all you kind people out there :j0

The Fremont street experienceyou cant -they only use the old planes on that route.
You can get one if your extremely lucky and the one your meant to fly on goe tech (like mookybargirl a couple of weeks a go) but I would not count on that.
The only other way i to fly virgin to los angeles or seattle (they use newer planes) and get an internal transfer on a carrier like virgin america0 -
The Stratospherethank you, would it be possible to walk the length of the strip or is it just too long?
I walked from The Hilton to the MGM Grand last week, probably took well over an hour, wouldn't want to do it in the summer heat mind you.
I've just realised that I haven't thanked everybody for the wonderful help & advise that I got from the 2008 thread, I'm sure it helped make my recent Vegas trip a success, Thank you one and all.0 -
