Off to Vegas in June and being big Baseball fans me and my mate are thinking of going down to Slugger Stadium. Is it worth it then? Are you just in batting cages or is it similar to a driving range where you're in a confined space but you can smash the balls into a big area?
Also is it easy to get to from the strip? Thanks all
It's like a driving range with cages ranging in speed. Its always so quiet when we have been there that there's never a problem in switching cages (and speeds) as you get your eye in. Its a fun thing to do, not particulalry cheap but worth a go if you've never tried a batting cage before. Its too far to walk, but its a short taxi ride and if you play golf you could add it to whacking a few balls at the planes taking off at the Calloway golf centre!
Bring your passport to Calloway and they'll let you try out any of their weapons.
Try and get down to see the 51's!0 -

The Bellagio FountainsI know many people don't realise just how much walking you get to do in Vegas, especially first timers and comfortable shoes that will cope with the heat (feet swelling) and the sheer distances you'll end up walking are essential.
Plus them blisters can really wreck your enjoyment as Tangobunny just reported.
I picked up this tip re comfy shoes/sandals when trying to find a pair for our trip to Orlando at Christmas. I knew there'd be tons of walking around the theme parks so needed shoes that would cope.
If my feet are wrecked, I'm wrecked, and it takes ages for them to heal as well.:o
I've tried many different brands, M & S Footglove are really good but someone recommended Flyflot shoes and I can give them a wholehearted thumbs up.
I got a pair of flat sandals which I lived in whilst in Florida and a pair of pump like slip on's which I only wore on the flights.
We're off to Vegas in October and I know it'll be hot for me and my feet, so I'm going to buy a pair of flyflot mules and maybe another set of sandals to manage whilst I'm out there.
They do mens styles as well, I know some of the styles are a bit 'senior' but if you hunt around there's some really nice styles. Most of all they are soooooo comfortable after walking many, many miles in hot weather. No blisters at all.:T
PS as a bit of moneysaving, they have cheaper flyflots at different internet stores, just do a search.;)DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

Thanks for the recommendation - I have a terrible time finding comfortable sandals (not helped by my big feet and lack of options in my size) and found that shoe-shop.com (7% Quidco) carries quite a few styles that aren't too senior and in my size...I'm rather excited...thanks for the heads-up!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Glad to be of help, I'm a 7/8 my DD1 is a 9/10 so fully understand the problem, hope you find them as comfy as I do.;):DDFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08
