    Triker,

sorry, but I think I will have to report the burger post.

I am trying to lose a bit of the flab before going to LV next Saturday and the burgers on the list will probably add weight just looking at them .............lol

    Seriously, nice one!

OK, question on the oneworld thing (relevant to the thread with the upcoming BA direct flights).

Found this when looking into oneworld alliance info:

    • American Airlines AAdvantage and British Airways Executive Club members can earn and redeem miles and earn tier status credit, on all eligible flights (except each other's direct routes between Europe and the Americas)
So does that mean you couldn't book a BA return from Vegas as part of an AA itinerary and get AA miles?

Sorry if it's a stupid question but like Luci I find the whole thing fairly confusing!

Yep sorry Ferf that's right-although I always thought it was just USA rather than the Americas so if you're thinking of that new flight LHR LAS No it won't earn you AA miles -unless they make the LHR LAS a code share-which I very much doubt

I am going to research this a bit over on flyertalk, because I think that I saw a work round this. Anyway, if you have platinum status with AA (gained by doing the Plat challenge) you will get to use the BA lounge at terminal 5 even if you are flying in Y
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

We looked at the platinum challenge but it won't work for us at the moment - as we'd only get .5 qualifying points for each mile unless we went with an unrestricted economy class fare which was about 3X as expensive as the restricted economy fare. If we ever think we'll be making 2 flights to the US within a 3-month window we will be all over it though.

So looks like Virgin will have some competition in the direct to Vegas market come the fall.

Interesting - the arriving at 5:10pm thing isn't exciting...but the 777s is...and the 7pm departure from Vegas is.

    At long long last :T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T

great news for everyone except Beardy Branson .

i will now update the guide
