KatyKat, you did do some gambling right ??

If all you did was shopping and eating you could have done that back home !!!

You can enjoy Vegas without gambling if that's your choice. My SO wouldn't dream of putting a single penny in a machine, but he absolutely loves the place.

We're here for six weeks this time. (Not to rub it in or anything.)

Anyone seen this Ipod Touch thread:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1681609&highlight=touch

Great buy for £91 / £125, even if it is 1st Gen. Plays videos, music, photos and built-in wifi for your Vegas hols. I wouldn't be without mine, it's great to pass the time away on long flights.

Remember the main advantage of the 2G Touch is that you can make free Skype calls from free wifi hotspots as it has a mic in capability.......if all you want is a small surfing machine, the 1G is fine....esp at that price.

We did have a dabble on the machines, mostly as we were passing through, which of course you can't avoid. I forgot to mention that only 3 of us ate at Mandalay Bay. Son & Gf got tickets to watch the Hatton fight in Mandalay arena on large screen. $50 each. Good job they didn't pay the $750 MGM wanted for the live fight.
4th day went to Venetian for breakfast, in the food court, which wasn't brilliant, but the Venetian itself is fantastic. Had a relaxing afternoon by the pool with OH whilst the younger ones had a flutter in MGM casino. Son won $70, & lost it all . Thats LV though.
Dinner in Paris ( I think its called Il Cafe???) was great. $12.99 for fillet steak. I really enjoyed it. We spent the rest of the night in the duelling piano bar. This was top class entertainment. Those guys really rocked the place ( made a pot of cash too).
Next day- monday was Grand canyon day. What can I say!!!!!!Booked with Scenic/Papillon. Picked up by luxury coach & taken to Boulder City where we flew by light airplane( not my favourite ride) to GC. Then helicopter through the South rim & bus tour to Bright Angel lodge viewing point. There were some real boneheads who insisted on perching right on the edge for photo's. My heart was in my mouth. We had the aussie actress Jackie Woodburne ( Susan Kennedy from Neighbours) on our trip, her friend had a serious bout of travel sickness & missed quite a lot. Felt really sorry for her.
After that tiring day, could only stagger to Fiamma in MGM for dinner, but boy was it worth it.
Last day we split up & did bits of shopping ( got a fabulous handbag in Miracle mile after having the full works at Spice market buffet, Mmmmm. Youngers tried the roller coaster at NY NY. I didn't!!!!
Booked a table at Gallaghers as we couldn't get in on a previous night. I have to say although we enjoyed it, I think we had built it up more than we expected. As it was our last night, we decided not to take any money home, so spent quite a few hours on the wheel of fortune. We all got really plastered with the free drinks. We won quite a bit really, but put it all back into the slot in the table. Had lots of fun though.
Home next day, & I have to say that although the flight itself was good, the B*** check in at McCarron airport was DIRE. Thomas Cook, PLEASE READ THIS. If you need to check 200+ passengers in, you need to open more than 2 desks!!!!!!. Honestly, we were all wilting. Finally about 40 mins before take off due, they finally opened 2 more, then they were rushing like maniacs trying to get us all through.
It didn't deter us though, we're definately going again, just have to start saving.

Well, the time has come!! We leave on friday morning for 5 nights, staying at Wynn. We booked flight and hotel, seperatly, through Virgin and have flights for £1200 and hotel for £800. We now know that we could have booked for less, but we have been planning this trip since we left the last time 2 years ago and booked the day the dates were released!! Excited much!!:j

    Hi guys!!
Is there a cheaper option still available for the Wynn for next friday? did you book with them? if YES to both questions, why don't you call them and ask for the reduced rate?
ps: I wanted to check the offer I got via email for you, but for some reason I can't connect to their website. sorry.

We booked with Virgin not direct with the hotel. We are happy because at the time Wynn wanted a few hundred more than we paid Virgin.

We had a seabring convertible and even with threre and normal luggage the back seat was full and the guy in the back had stuff on his lap. 4 adults with no luggage is not comftable certainly not for a road trip.
Its Vegas time -no longer :T a five year old has changed Vegas time to Orlando time

I'd be careful of that one - unless you're only staying three qualifying nights and the voucher book is of value to you, the rates are quite a bit higher than their hot deals rates especially on the non-qualifying nights.

    http://www.harrahs.com/AvailabilityCalendar.do?propCode=ILV&showHotDeal=Y

For example - a random week in June is $279 through hot deals, but $324 using the $99 for 3 nights deal - so the voucher book effectively costs $45...even 3 qualifying nights is $6 more on the $99 deal than through hot deals...and it may be possible to get the voucher book just by asking.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

4 adults in a convertible is really going to push it . Me and OH have a 4x4 SUV to ourselves for road trips . if we both take 2 large suitcases and hand luggage we pretty much fill a boot.

solution is either 2 convertibles or a good sized SUV IMO .

Most of the main outlet malls have somewhere to buy luggage .why not do it properly and get some Samsonite cases ? i got a full sized case for $80 from a outlet branch because it had minor superficial damage .
