The Bellagio FountainsI love spending a good 10 seconds watching the gondolas. 75% of the time you see a really embarassed bloke hoping nobody they know walks past. You really have to be a "special" sort of person to even contemplate going on one.
Hey now, some people really love the gondola rides...I know it was one of the things on my in-laws must do list and they loved it. It's not something my husband and I would be bothered with doing, but some people enjoy it.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
The Bellagio FountainsI'm not sure if it's changed, but the first time we went a few years ago we booked and when we arrived asked to sit on the patio...they sent us to the podium giving out buzzers and the girls there said that the bookings were only for inside - that patio was only first come, first served...so if we wanted to sit outside in the future just come and get a buzzer as booking won't get us in quicker...so that's what we've done the last few times.
I've always booked, even when intendint to sit on the patio, but you're right enough, it probably doesn't make any difference as you will have to wait anyway.
There was one time I booked for 7pm intending eating at 8, but we got there a bit early at 6pm and we were seated on the patio immediately. Would probably still have got a patio table even though we hadn't booked.0 -
The Bellagio FountainsWell guys just got home from going to the Price Is Right at Ballys which was well.....OK!!! Not brilliant! Only one person one big and the last game was just ridcolours. The prize included a cruise in MExico!!! Swine Flu anyone! It also included a car and i think the total price was 9000dollars or something stupid like that!
Ferf - great tip on the Fish Slot, really good fun and won about 10$ off it tonight off a few dollars!
Also went to see Jubilee.....really really good fun! Well worth a good show, got row C and $35 tickets out the one of the vegas books lieing around!
Great work guys, I have a MASSIVE trip report to post....but we move on to palm springs tomorrow, then san diego and LA so still have a while to go!
Trip report will be huge if people are interested in the whole 16 nights worth?

some people love train spotting, they're also special. We're also special as we would always have at least one trip to the Star Trek Experience to eat at Quarks.0 -
The Bellagio FountainsRich - glad the fish were good to you! I like it too, though I never win very much...but if you get the right machine and loads of bonuses, it can be really fun and you can play for a long time. A lady next to me at Paris just slapped the spin button repeatedly - over and over in rapid succession - until she got a bonus...then once the bonus was done, she started again. It was weird. I couldn't see how that could be fun, but to each their own!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

Being a Railway man ( who has very little interest in Trains outside work i might add ) and someone who enjoyed his Gondola ride , guess i'm very special:D:D. you have to be a couple ( or maybe parent and child) to take a ride on them though.
Completely off topic , i am no Trekkie but i will be going to see the new Movie after The Times gave it a 5 star review, cause any film getting 5 stars from The Times is a very rare event indeed . the last one was 3 years ago i think (United 93).

We also will be going to see the new film, but probably not for few weeks. Just the thought of a first night screening has me shivering at the thought of the smell factor ...the sort of smell you get when you walk past a Games Workshop store, or even worse, something like a Magic The Gathering tournament ...shudder0 -

I love Star Trek, but not a Trekkie as such...really excited about this one but like wdyw will wait a bit to see it. The casting, especially Kirk and Spock, is inspired I think.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
The Bellagio FountainsHi digger,
Here's my 2c worth too.
For the first trip, you don't really need to plan as the casinos will keep you busy. Our first trip was 5 days at Caesars and it just flew past.
Must do for me would be the Bellagio fountains - I love them so much, and generally just try to make it to all of the big casinos on the strip. We did grand canyon and a night downtown on our first trip too, but never expected we'd get hooked and keep coming back so we just squeezed in everything :rotfl:
For buffets, I like MGM and Paris for breakfast and Bellagio for dinner. For a special meal, there's so much to choose from. Olives to me was just ok, but that was very much to do with the very strange waiter we had when we ate there for dinner (Ferf - People were fairly smart when we ate dinner there, men had mostly shirts, but not ties or suits or anything. Smart casual would be about right).
Oh - and don't forget M&M's World next to MGM:D:D:D:D
Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0
