We are planning to fly out of Edinburgh on 20 July. Expedia have got 50% off on Stratosphere which obviously makes the price look better but I will have a look on that site now

I just had a quick check for your dates and the montecarlo for example is £528 for 14 nights, although the promo must be booked by april 23rd.. I can't vouch for the hotel as i've never stayed there but its a fantastic location and well worth the extra £50 compared to the Stratosphere deal you've found IMO. The biggest problem with the Strat is the location so you need to factor in the time and money you will spend in that 2 weeks just getting to and from the strip from your hotel.

ETA: You might also want to think about splitting your stay between more than one hotel to take advantage of offers. 14 nights is a long time to spend in one place, especially somewhere so removed like the Strat.

Glad you liked the Silverton. It is one of our favourites and you can't lose with two meals for $10!!! They serve Starbucks coffee in the buffet too, did you have some?

If you subtract the price of a regular Starbucks from the total it means you pay almost nothing for the food.

I bet you're sad that there are only two days left.

I stayed in the monte carlo 16 months ago.
at that time there was building going on all around it (much like most of the strip).
i have to say i was really impressed. very large nice rooms.
there again i paid £50 for 2 nights and had 2 buffets (used), 2 beers in the bar there.. forget the name (used) and 2 gym passes (unused :) )

Yes a Michelob is a bottle of lager. Now I hate lager/beer although I can cope with a shandy, but I can manage Michelob Ultra. We ordered one for huuby when we went to see Tom Jones, but the CW came back with two so I had to try it and it was OK.

I'm intending trying a Colorado Bulldog/Paralyzer when we're in Vegas, but I doubt I'll get if free while playing. Can't remember all that's in it except for tequila, vodka I think, kaluha, Coke and I think cream.

Monte Carlo with construction next door ( although they must be nearly finished by now !!) will still win out over the Strat everyday of the week and twice on sundays . and the £50 extra you pay will be saved ( and then some) in Travel costs to the Strat .

i take it you have done a bit of legwork with the links for hotel offers in post 1 ajmoney ???

I've booked......off to Vegas for 2 weeks in October. Staying at the MGM Grand.

    Now to start planning.

This time I will get to In and Out Burger :D

Paid with Tesco vouchers so only had to pay £175 ish in real money each for fuel taxes. Not bad eh.;)

Have had a pretty thorough look but the website posted above has got some good offers. Which hotels mid-strip are worth looking at?

Price-wise the cheapest hotel centre strip is the Imperial Palace, but it's a very basic hotel and there are far better to be had. Then it might be Bill's Gambling Hall.

Check out Page 1 of Fat Wallet to see what the rates are for the next month or two to give you an idea and check the price of your flight only.

According to webtender.com The Colorado Bulldog is without Tequila and the Paralyzer is with Tequila. Tony often has a Colorado Bulldog whilst playing the slots. I'll tell him about the Paralyzer. Another one he likes is Long Island Iced Tea. Ingredients: Vodka, Tequila, Rum, Gin, Triple sec, Sour mix, Coca-Cola and it tastes like pop to me.

Thanks Pebbles. I was just trying to think of something different to drink while I'm there. I usually have either vodka and 7 or a Screwdriver. I don't have much imagination to think of anything else so I'm open to suggestions of drinks that may be comped.
