We've seen and enjoyed both...both are water-based or oriented...Le Reve has a few pieces of music you will recognize (it has some dance numbers for lack of a better word)...Le Reve is slightly less Cirquey...though the same guy who created O created Le Reve so there are common threads between them.

Personally, I preferred O for sheer jaw-droppingness...but the clowns in O got kind of annoying to me...Le Reve is in a smaller theatre so is more intimate...O's stage is absolutely stunning in the way it changes from water to dry land in an instant...but Le Reve is really cool too - Le Reve is also in the round whereas O is not.

You can find video clips/adverts of both online so maybe have a look to see which appeals to you more.

You can find discounts for Le Reve more often than O I think.

Am off to Vegas for my first trip in a fortnight (WooooHoooooo!!) Its for my 40th (I'm about 25, in my head!!) Its my 40th on Sunday 5th, so I was planning a champagne brunch on the day itself. Does anyone have any recommendations for the "big day"? I was thinking of the Bellagio? Do you have to book in advance (if so, how far in advance?) & also, I'm sure I'd read on one of the forums somewhere about Chocolate Martinis? Anyone know where I could get one & if they're as yummy as they sound?!!

I'm on a limited budget, so I was thinking about eating out at the buffets in the main, any specifically to avoid?

We're staying at PH, BTW, in a Hip Room (hoping I might be lucky & get a Fountain View, but it won't be the end of the world if I can't get upgraded) for 11 nights, so plenty of time to visit places, though I'm hoping to have some time off to just chill & that it will be warm enought to sit out round the pool. Does anyone know how cold it gets in the evening in early April? Is it "short-sleeve" weather or is a long sleeve cardi/coat required?

I know it is pointless asking for other things to see/do, cos of the vast array of places, but if anyone wants to offer their "must do" activity, then all ideas considered!! As I said, I'm 25 in my head & DH is mid-30's (but we're not into clubbing or gambling!) so we're up for most things.

    TIA

    Suzi xx

Most of the buffets have champagne brunch on Sunday. If you want to splash out there's a Sterling Brunch at Bally's. It's not cheap but the food is exceptional (I've not been myself).

I've seen someone else mention chocolate martini's at Wynn. You can order via the cocktail waitress (much cheaper) or buy one at the Parasol Up and Down bar. Did you know they have a $10k one? :rotfl:

I would tip at check in at PH and ask for a fountain view room specifically rather than just ask for "an upgrade". Will better your chances at getting what you want.
Can't help much with weather as only ever been in Sept & Nov. In Nov, it got chilly in evenings so was no good for short or no sleeves, but the weather can vary year on year for the same month, so pack in layers :)

Oh, also for me, have to see the fountains at Bellagio at least a few times. I could go on, but I'd be here all day.
Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!

Hello- has anyone been to Vegas on Thoma Cook direct from Manchester?

If so would you reccomend them
    Morning Oneil,

I have flown with "My Travel" direct from Manchester to Vegas - My Travel were taken over by Thomas Cook last year.

My "direct flight" included a stop at Glasgow to pick up on the outbound journey (covered on here MANY times before) but my flights were in June/July, so this probably wont apply to you!

I found the plane to be VERY cramped & due to various delays etc we were actually on the plane over 15 hours in the end. Seat was VERY uncomfortable. Food was fine. IFE was fine.

HOWEVER - and this is important. There is someone on here (Im sorry I cant remember your name!) who has advised that the planes have been updated and are now quite comfortable - hopefully he/she will reply to your question.

If I were going to Vegas this year I WOULD consider flying with them if the price were right. Flight prices around the dates I wanted to go this year were coming out in excess of £1,000 so I would probably opt for an indirect flight with an alternate airline.

Have you got a good price and when are you going?

Looking to piece together some provisional prices for august 2010.

Thomas Cook website is showing a direct flight from Manchester on August 19th of this year for £555 per person. not bad really.

I just wanted to know whether or not they had managed to upgrade their aircraft.

An indirect flight with a reasonable carrier would mean that I had to fly to london, then from london to somewhere in amercia then onto vegas.

    Do you live near Manchester?
We fly indirect from Manchester all the time. This year it will be MAN-PHL-LAS and MAN-EWR-LAS. Never had to go via London.

    Hey Oneil,

Have a look at the posts on this page from 2008 thread. wdyw confirmed that the planes had (then) been upgraded. Hope this helps!

I've been indirect via Glasgow before twice, think the last was US airways via Philadeplia. Again may not help. (I have family there so can travel up the day before and sleep over).

Im in Newcastle so Man is fairly easy to get to- how was US airways flight?

im a little bit of a plane geek- and I dont really like american carriers (dont beleive I should have to pay for my alcohol) so I;ve been trying to keep away from them

I wouldnt mind Virgin out of LGW but- im not paying those prices to fly on their old cramped planes.
