Our return flight from LA in June has been put forward 30 mins. Had a phone call from Virgin to notify me of this and an email with new flight itinerary in my inbox a little later.

We've had both emails and texts from Virgin when there were delays on the day though never anything regarding a schedule change for a future flight...doesn't matter to us as we always use online check-in 24 hours before the flight so we always know at least by then (usually earlier as I regularly check our seat allocations on the run up to the trip anyway. :))
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I can recommend the Orange chicken at the Chinese / Asian eatery! But there's also pizza, hot dogs, etc. We liked it because everyone in the family wanted something different to eat and it was easy to please everyone. Not often you can say that when travelling!

Totally agree, it was the best airport food we have ever have had, far better than Chicago (where we are heading this year  )

Clocks change and schedules are tweaked usually the same weekend so always worth checking around now (our NW in april flights now arrive an hour later-notified by e-bookers couple of weeks ago)

We're flying UC so I dont know if the phone call is a service for that class of ticket or not, but agreed, even if they hadnt rung me I would have clocked the schedule change well in advance of flying.

Wow and I was happy with my £323.00 with 2000 miles for later in March. Nice price.

    Have a good trip.

Just a quick heads up for anyone who's booked flights with Virgin
I logged into my account yesterday only to find my flight times had been changed......no email telling me of this was recieved from Virgin.
Lucky it's a change for later flights but still it's a change to the itinery
our outbound flight is now 11.25 am and inbound 16.40.....a difference of 40 mins on both flights

I know...I just checked, my flights to San Fran leave Heathrow later, and the Virgin America connection from SF to Vegas has been moved earlier...going to be a squeeze for connecting now.

    Hi all,

I was regularly reading of this thread during the summer whilst planning my 40th birthday celebration in Vegas last August. Ended up staying at the Four Seasons which was absolutely brilliant, if a little expensive.

Guess what, at the end of March we are flying to LA and planning on a few nights in Vegas to celebrate my wife's 40th! Only this time we are taking our 2 kids as well (aged 8 and 6) - can anyone recommend a decent family friendly hotel that will also satisfy my wife's need for a bit of luxury?

I don't want to go as low as Circus Circus and am thinking that Excalibur may not be as high end as she would like! Any suggestions?

Also what are your experiences with having children stay in the same room? Policies seem to vary by hotel ie; some charge a lot more for additional occupancy whilst others are happy to let kids stay for free?

    Thanks,

    John.

We've booked Mandalay Bay, got it through FatWallet and it works out about £50 per night. It gives me the luxury I want but the swimming pool/beach area looks great. Like you we didn't want Circus Circus, although we have got a couple of nights at The Stratosphere and three nights at Luxor so should get a good idea of what we enjoy. Our children are aged 13 and 10 and Mandalay Bay don't charge any extra for them.

Well we had no notification at all....If I hadn't logged on to check where we were sitting I wouldn't have known until either I used on-line check in or twilight check in at the airport.
