    Good luck.

No, it won't affect your BB.

Primus will tell BT, agree with them a 'takeover' date and e-mail you.

Don't forget to make sure you're on BT Together Option 1 and pay by DD to get the £1/month discount to £11 on the line rental.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

TalkTalk seem to lose an awful lot of 'important letters'... don't trust them to tell you. They're going to gain if you make calls and get charged for each one! It isn't in their interest to write to you.

Just call and ask to speak to their cancellations dept and they will offer something... but DON'T MOVE LINE RENTAL AWAY FROM BT. Do so and regret it...

Thanks for the advice. I rang them up as it still stated that I was on Talk2 +12 today on the internet. They said I was on Talk 2 where you had to pay after the next billing cycle. They have offered me Talk 1 from 6/2 and Talk 2 for free upto that point. I think if you can get more than that from them you are lucky.

In the evening it is 5p for 70 mins. 18866/1899 are not much cheaper that that.

Should I swap to another provider where all evening and weekend calls are free?
  • Try Just Dial Saver as they offer evening and weekend calls for no monthly fee. :D

Just for your information, they were part of Onetel but are now part of TalkTalk which has now bought Onetel and thus Just Dial.

TalkTalk's cancellations dept seem to be a bit stingy at the moment. Not sure why. You could transfer away then go back to them for the three months free on Talk3... :D

    CC

Or read many of the recent comments about JDS on here and then sign up for Primus Saver Option 2 instead.

Looks good but is there a catch. Will it become Talk Talk as well in a few months???

A lot of my family and friends are on Talk Talk which is useful when you phone during the day.

Primus are a big player in the Telecom Business. See http://www.planet-talk.co.uk/About.aspx?menuselection=5
Their not up for sale ,and i would have thought TT have enough problems trying to amalgamate the TT,One tel,Jds,and Tele 2 brands before buying any more carriers.

At E&W everybody is your Friend or Family on Primus Saver 2. :D
    PF.
  • I would have thought that if you call TalkTalk and say you're moving to Primus then they would try to keep you? Why aren't they doing that now?

The lady I spoke to said the best they could offer me was the free weekend calls. Didn't seem that bothered to keep me anymore than that. Maybe they have taken on alot with the companies they have taken over. It took me ages to get through to the cancellation dept.
