Hi Floxxie,
DH was never like this so it is a pleasant surprise. :j:j:j
How is MB? I haven't done anything since BWin. Don't want to spend time indoors when the weather is so nice...
My back is almost fine now. We had this week off so am relaxing outside in the garden. Also DH has been very good and he cooked me lunch so enjoying time off

Hi MQ,
No MBing at the moment. Too many pies to deal with and as there is little footie on...
Enjoy your time off and being spoilt. It sounds great.

I trust you are monitoring the exchange rate carefully; sterling is up against US$ as the latter is drifting out of favour as people are willing to consider some risk again. Haven't check the IR rate though.0 -
Hi Stuart,
I have been keeping a close eye on the exchange rate for the last couple of months. The rate was 69 just last month while it is 76 now though no where near to last year's 83. I just hope it keeps on increasing. We still have 2-3 months to go.0 -

Worth getting say 1/3rd now to lock in at that rate, then remainder over the month or so later?0 -

Hi
Just wanted to update, that our spring clean is all done except my wardrobe... I will probably sort that next week
Also we had our boiler serviced today. Cost us £150:eek:. But that includes 1 year extended warranty from Worcester Bosch so hopefully worth it
Also got a letter from our ISA provider that the fixed rate of 6.3 % will reduce to 2% from 1st of July so have to move the money somewhere else. The best we can find at the moment is 3.25% fixed for 1 year. Don't want to lock the money (£17000) for longer than that because rates can't remain this low for very long.
So have to sort everything next week as the transfer generally takes 2-3 weeks.
Have noted the energy readings for last month. We are consuming 5KWH leccy per day and 7 KWH gas per day.
Also forgot to mention, we washed/ waxed. and vacuumed our car ourselves last week so thats a saving of £10 :money::money:
Take care everyone and have a nice weekend..:beer:0 -
Hi,
It has been ages since I have updated my Diary... I think , I should change Diary's name as it no longer is a "Daily" Diary...
Well to be fair, I have been busy - at work and also at home - as we are decorating. We had bought all the paints etc. last year (8 months ago) so have finally got around to this now . We are doing it all ourselves so thats Money Saving:money:
The weather has been really lovely and I am enjoying the sun while we can..
Also, I have had a clearout of my wardrobe and have 2 bags full of stuff to go to Ebay/ Charity Shop/ Free Cycle. But I have just been lazy so the bags are just waiting for their turn. Hopefully I will do them this weekend...
I never knew I had these many clothes... Have 34 summer outfits in total and 10 summer jackets/ MACs and 18 pairs of shoes and they all fit so I don't think, I will be needing any more clothes this year:money:
Also as they have all been arranged as outfits so for the first time in my life, I am not spending half an hour in the morning deciding about what to wear and what coordinates with what.:j
Things at grocery front have been good this month and we have spent £91 till now in June... We are trying to use up stuff that we already have and I have done meal planning this month...:money:
Thats it from me...
Take care everyone...0 -
Just checked DH's quidco account, and he should be paid £40 at month end :j
Last month quidco payment was £95 so well chuffed about this...
Thanks to MSE, would never have known that something like quidco exists in pre-MSE days:money:0 -
Almost forgot, I had a nice hair cut today...
I generally get my hair trimmed every month but this time, I have got some layers added this time
One of DH's friends works in a salon, so she cuts our hair and shapes my eyebrows every month and as a friendly gesture, DH cooks for her a nice Indian Meal and the two of us generally have a round of girlie gossip while DH is busy in the kitchen. She loves Indian Curries and as DH cooks Indian once a week, we always pack a takeaway box for her with couple of homemade Naan Breads so she doesn't have to spend on a takeaways every week.0
