    Wow
That's a massive net income for a month, and with your low cost living you've an excellent surplus there for all the savings and OP plans, well done.

We went to our current ISA provider to change the fixed rate to the instant access from 1st July so that we can transfer it to the Newcastle 5% ISA..

The guy there migrated our product today only with interest credited to my account at 6.3% till 31st May and this month at 2%. According to him, the 6.3% rate had finished on 31st May. In pre-MSE days, I would have been too shy/ embarrassed to enquire/ follow up. But I actually did this today. :j

He spoke to his superviser and has taken my details They will be reverting the changes he did so that I can get 6.3% till 30th June and then the product will migrate to 0.8% instant access from 1st of July.

I will get DH's ISA migrated on 1st July only so as to avoid any similar issues..

I was checking DH's credit card statement today and noticed £35 paid to Amazon, so I asked him, if he has bought something from there. (I initially thought that this is probably some online misuse of our card.) It turns out that he has ordered a Circulon Infinite Chefs Pan for me (I so wanted to buy it - to match with my Circulon Pan set) but didn't want to pay £55 for it as I didn't need it really(though wanted it badly)

In true MSE style, DH also used £20 amazon vouchers from Pigsback from our accounts. Bless him..

It should arrive tomorrow. This is my little treat..:j

My pan arrived at work today... It is so beautiful... How sad am I

Otherwise also It has been a good day

    1. Quidco has paid £40 in DH's account..
    2. I have requested £20 cashback from TCB - should be in my account with in 14 days
    3. Have requested £21 cashback from DH's TCB
    4. Have requested a £10 withdrawal from the Free Scratchie...

So a total of £91 extra income this month :j

I have to get our Cash ISA passbooks updated tomorrow with the interest till 30th June... I am expecting atleast £1000 in interest for the last 14-15 months for both of us.

Also DH had a discussion with FIL today. They jointly own a property in India which we are thinking of extending so that it can be let but that would require around £20,000 so we would have to pay our share (£10000). FIL has offered to pay our share as £ to INR conversion rate is low at the moment. But that would mean that he would have to get premature withdrawals from his 5 year fixed deposites (at 11%) at the moment and as he wouldn't accept any interest on this "loan" from us, we are not willing to do this...

What that means is that we may have to send £10,000 to India by Oct as that is when the work will start... This is going to be a major set back in our Mortgage OP plans...

Things are still in the planning stage yet so I will provide an update on this later..

Do keep a daily check on the exchange rates as sterling has improved recently. Like investing you may want to pound cost average the transaction; i.e. £2500 per month converted/sent electronically so you can try to get the average rate for £:IR?

    Hi Stuart,

Thats what I am thinking of doing. Will be sending the first £2000 on Monday and then some more as and when the rate seems okay...

Its £5000 thats to be sent before 31st August... and then another £10,000 by Oct/ November depending on when the work starts

I have got our Cash ISA Passbooks updated today for both of us... There has been some processing mistake at their end so both of us have received 6.3% interest till 31st May instead of 30th June... They are going to manually adjust our accounts to add the interest for the month of June...But they couldn't do it in the branch so they have raised a request with theie HO so it may take few days

We have got £1101 interest till 31st May and probably there will be another £50-60 added later :j

I had been thinking of a present for my sister who has her wedding anniversary this month and have finally decided about buying them a Breadmaker as her wee son really likes the fresh bread that I make in my Panny. Also this is going to save her time as she has 2 sons and also works full time..

I have checked following stores today (all online)

    John Lewis - £87.75 - any cashback
    Lakeland - £97.86 - any cashback
Debenhams - £81 after all cashbacks

I have not ever bought anything else from Debenhams other than clothes/ shoes etc. so not really sure of their after sales customer service

So I am going to Costco tomorrow to check the price there.. If it is cheaper than JL/ Lakeland then would buy it from there..

I really love my breadmaker MQ; that's a very thoughtful gift. The downside is that the bread is so nice I can eat a loaf to myself :rotfl:

Hope you get your ISAs sorted out soon. I transferred one from Icesave and it has really confused Natwest. Need to find a good one that allows transfers in and get it moved again.

Well done on hitting below £100k on the mortgage!
