Hi everybody,
Thanks Magni for my number, yippee it's the first time I've got a challenge number!!
I'm adding a couple of items onto my challenge but I don't expect it to be added to my list. I've added them onto the list that I'm carrying around with me to stop temptation when I see a bargain.
6) I know it's sad but I've actually counted all the ibuprofen and paracetamols that I have in my medicine cabinet (76 paracetamol + 81 ibuprofen) and so shouldn't need to buy any more of these.
7) In the same vain I have also counted 'feminine hygiene products" (sorry guys!) and shouldn't need any of these.
8) No writing paper and pads ( try and reuse backs of envelopes and cereal packets for lists).
It's great seeing stuff getting used already and not replaced, but I have to remind myself not to slap it on willy-nilly just to get rid of it.
That's all for now, good luck everybody.0 -

Doing Ok so far...
Bought a packet of crisps the other day, but I was on a long shift at the pub, and needed some energy... So I don't count that! Infact, that 60p is all I've spent this year so far!
I can really relate to the toiletries thing. I've just remembered a whole load of bath bombs and shower gels etc under the bed from Christmas 2007!!! There's about 5 unfinished shampoo/conditioner bottles in the bathroom, and I hate to think about body lotions. Maybe I'm just fussy... I use what I like and leave the rest to gather dust! Must sell.
Well done everyone. This challenge is quite an eye-opener!

OK have cheated a teeny weeny bit. DD1 aged 9 was gutted to have been given Tinkerbell on DVD for Christmas. Happily yesterday she managed to swap it at Tesco for a Wii game but needed to pay the £3.50 difference so technically I have parted with money for a Wii game. Anyway to apease my guilty concience I've cancelled a pre-ordered Wii game so in the grand scheme of things that evens out. By way of a far bigger punishment the new game is Wii Fit compatible Cheerleading and involves lots of energy zapping leaping around to nauseating american voices and lots of gee you go girl. Its almost as bad as playing on-line bingo, almost in that nothing can be quite as bad as on line bingo.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Hello everybody,
I've not bought anything that's on my list yet either, congratulations to everybody who hasn't succumbed.
Am plastering on the body lotion at the moment because I've got really dry skin due to cold weather and central heating, so a couple of days ago I finished a 50ml tub of Boots Body cream that I received for christmas 2006 which I promptly opened and didn't use so I have to admit I think it had gone off and smelt a bit iffy. But no worries cos I only went to bed afterwards anyway. Then this morning I finished another of the same stuff which hadn't been opened and smelt fine, so with the 2 empty pots I've washed them out and scrapped the leftovers of shampoo into one and conditioner into another. So that's 2 nearly empty big containers gotten rid of and replaced with 2 x 50ml tubs, the storage boxes are looking neater already (yep, storage boxes, that's how much stuff I've got!).0 -
I have sooo much 'stuff' aswell, i need to sort through it all and start using all the little bits up first......
I havent given in as yet but i have nearly by accident, i keep forgetting about it and went to tesco, went to pick up baby mag and then remembered so put it back, walked on a few more mins and started looking at the bath stuff!!!!!! but i remembered in time again, i just cant believe i nearly forgot twice!!lol..i blame it on preganacy forgetfullness
using my lovely sancutary mum to be body butter at the moe (got two small tubs and one big one for xmas!!) so that alone should last me more then the 100 days!!!GC: Nov: £60.22/£450 Oct: £338.48/£450, July: £363.05/£450, June £447.98/£500£2 savers No68: £104/£100 :j:jmummy to: 8yr, 5yr, 3yr, 2yr, 1yr. Hi everybody :hello:
Magni, am I too late for this? Would like to join as I have a serious toiletries addiction :rotfl: and like many on here, I also thought I was the only one!
I would like to give up buying (for myself), for 100 days:
1) toiletries
2) cosmetics
3) takeaways, and ... (deep breath...)
4) tv shopping
The first 2 will be doubly difficult for me because, get this, I am one of those ladies that goes 'bing-bong' at your door (you know the ones) and supplies the above mentioned toiletries and cosmetics!! This is actually the reason I have so much stuff I think - I love getting all the new products early and will buy even though I have no need of it.
Anyway, by my reckoning, my 100 days will run out on 14 April. At which point I shall probably go into a frenzy of shopping and eating chinese :rotfl:
Good luck to allGrocery challenge: Jun£134.15/£120; Jul £60.90/£1200 -
hi all
thanks magni for adding me to the list. I've had a good day today I actually came out of NEXT £12 better off as returned an item from the sales. I nearly gave in temptation as thought about exchanging the jeans for something else but I have more than enough clothes to last I really need to sort out my wardrobe. I also went food shopping and didn't buy any cheese (this should aid weight loss too) Hows everyone doing hope everyone is resistingMortgage free 25/9/2019 8years and 7 months early 😁😁😁0
