100 Day Challenge Take 2

I found this thread randomly whilst browsing last week and have read the whole thing
. Well done to everyone, it's been inspirational. I have a bad habit of getting things from Boots in particular when there are great offers - the Boots thread on Grabbit has a lot to answer for . Although I was good and if there was a really good offer I would just get it and not lots of other stuff to *disguise* it I still have lots of stuff and have lost track of things, and I've got a fair few Avon bits too.
So this weekend I started a *stock take* and am making a list of what I've got at the moment. I'm going to use up, sell, or give away things starting in earnest this weekend and do my own 100 day challenge as I think this will really help clear out what I've got - probably make myself a bit of money and give things to people who will actually use them and then I can work out what I actually really like and stick to buying this in future - well that's the plan.
So thanks for everyone who has contributed to this thread, for helping me realise I do have too much stuff and that I need to use it up before buying anything else:TInitial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

Fedup I know exactly how you feel! This was a breeze for me the first time round but this second time has been impossible and I have had my fair share of blips. Maybe the 1st time was easier because it was new and fun but now it's a chore
When do we want to start our next 100 days?
I think I'll leave cosmetics off the next one as it has become like the forbidden fruit and now I am obsessed:eek: I'll give my next challenge a new "edge" by adding other products that I normally buy as if they are going out of fashion, like laundry products, cleaning products etc.
Good luck for the final days:D100 Day Pot £13

BLIPS
ordered a Clientele kit last week from QVC as convinced myself I needed another neck cream when this one I currently use runs out. Cost £45 plus P+P.
Also ordered a Wild Organics Discovery Set of a new totally organic range in small sizes convincing myself I would use them on holiday. Cost apporx £18 plus P+P. Then it arrived and all I could think was 'send it back you don't need it'.
I then caved in and bought a rather lovely silver ring in a heart design with the word 'FORGIVE' inscribed on the inside. Expensive at £55 plus P+P. Loved the inscribed word inside then the cost made me wince when it arrived. Can't decide whether to keep it or not. The cost was split over 2mths.
This is a lesser version of how I used to spend before and I am scared I am returning to how I was before. Haven't returned anything yet and need to do this
Mentally I am finding it difficult to keep my motivation levels up for this. I keep saying to myself I am not strong enough to do this without this challenge. Then my behaviour reinforces my old ways. I keep finding myself in the hair/skincare sections of the supermarket looking for bargains (somewhere I never visited before). I don't know what has happened to my commitment to this challenge when it worked so well for me before.
I am 27 days into this challenge and I feel I have not committed to it like I did before. I think I need to restart at Day 1 when you restart your own challlenges. It was difficult the first time then got easier some ways in. It has never been harder to overcome the messages in my head as this!
Positively, cleared out 2 make up bags and my skincare stash drawer and decided brutally that I would never use this things that were only lighly used at most or even new. Listed on ebay to a fairly good response and about half plus skincare are all going to their new homes today. That is £64 made from these things that I would never use again and probably throw away at some point. At least a positive behaviour change made there
Need to make to connection with emptying stashes being a good thing and not to refill the spaces with something else.
Why can't I learn, why did it work better for me the first time and then felt like an impossible hill this time? Maintaining the change is the hard bit, change itself was easier in the end.
Any comments/ideas will be gratefully read!
Oh dear FedUp! Perhaps it would be good for you to re-start the challenge with everyone else...? Mutual support and all that...
In the mean time, if you can, send back the stuff you bought... especially the ring, as you really can do without that! And the Wild Organic stuff.... keep the neck cream though as you obviously use it.
And close your QVC account!!!
Try not to dwell too much on what you have done 'wrong', you yourself pointed out the change you made by selling stuff that you would have otherwise thrown!
Keep your chin up hun, you are making progress!xxxWell today I have bought my first body lotion in *ages* and I'm quite pleased with myself because I ran out yesterday
Need to pop to Boots tomorrow and get OH some aftershave, plus my £1 mascara if they have it and some heat protector spray for my hair... again, I will only be buying what I need and not stockpiling like I would normally
Have also finished two Crabtree & Evelyn travel size body washes and nearly finished my last Molton Brown minature - which I am actually quite gutted about because they have stopped making that fragrance.... BUT I have also decided that my skin feels quite dry after using it, where as with my new fav, it doesn't matter if I don't moisturise for one day
Also have just, this instant, finished a LE hand repair which I will not be buying again.... it's nice and moisturising, but smells horrid compared to some I have used up.... so the hunt is on for a new fav

Thanks Sarah for your kind comments. I will restart along with everyone else and have mutual support at the same time. Hi
With three days to go I have decided to declare. I have had some blips along the way - the Lancome duo at the airport; the No7 moisturisers and night cream that I bought with £5 off vouchers (still cost over £10 each!). This led me to undertake a full inventory of everything in on the dressing table and in the 'product drawer'. I think I have enough of some things to see me through to the olympics!
I am going to make sure I use all other facial moisturisers before I can start using the blip items.
I have this weird paradox - I hate the cupboards to be bare but quite enjoy the process of getting to the bottom of a jar. I have the same problem with my food cupboards. They are bursting with food - I hate the thought of them being bare. I don't know why I have this hoarding thing. Some deep psychological thing (!) but I can only get out of it by being conscious of it.
I will carry on with this challenge and add a new one when the Part 3 starts. I can't wait.
Well done to all of you - some of us have achieved more than others but I really do think that starting the challenge makes us think about the things that we have weaknesses about.
See you all on Part 3 - can't wait.

I'm thinking maybe it's a good idea to look at doing a completely different category for the next challenge to keep motivation high? So if you did clothes for one then try cosmetics the next etc? I'm trying to choose something that I really think I can do but tough enough to make me proud of my achievements even if I fall off the wagon occasionally! I'm looking forward to getting in at the start of the next one!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0

Didn't actually make it to Boots so will be going tomorrow before my coupons run out - definately need a new mascara now, the other one has nearly all gone - the first time I have finished one!
I looked for the £1 mascara at the weekend but not surprisingly there were none left!! Will keep checking in case they get more stock. I have one mascara in reserve, so would be breaking the challenge, but for a quid I thought it was worth it.
Good idea about the next challenge being for something different. I think the people who are on second time round are suffering from novelty wearing thin.0 -
Still didn't make it to Boots... went to a friends for lunch instead! May have a look tomorrow, as it will be a spend day anyway.....
On a seperate note - OMG!! Lulu Guinness handbags on QVC! Hurry up and finish 100 days, I *need* to shop!!!'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars' - Oscar Wilde0 -

Did you buy it? It had sold out when I saw it at breaskfast repeat hours. Luckily for me as I would have been tempted to get the black one! I thought it would be an early sell out and I was glad I did not stay up to see it and buy it!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

No I didn't.... I wen't upstairs to find out my QVC account number, and by the time I came back down, the grey one had sold out (I only wanted that one!) So a close call for me!
In the last couple of days I have finished a LE moisturiser, a travel size Molton Brown body wash and a cheap handwash...
