oooh - could I join?! I'd like to not buy any more magazines - I've been given 2 subscriptions for my bday which will help :) and need to stop wasting money on things I can read online!
I'd also like to not buy any unnecessary toiletries - I have lots of shower gel and soap and products like that! The only thing I might need in the next few months is shampoo.
I'm going to count from the beginning of the month, as I've not bought any toiletries or mags :)
    Thanks for running this!

I got through the shopping today without buying a magazine! :T

Now, should I put the £1.65 I would have spent into a pot? Would be interesting to see how much I save over the year...

    Hello everybody,

I've just done my weekly shop and didn't buy any 'black balled' items. I was tempted by the cover of a magazine but resisted the urge and now feel so much better, I know I would have regretted it as soon as I'd left the store anyway.

I have had a 'credit crunch haircut',:rotfl:, which is basically very short, so less shampoo, less conditioner, less leccy to dry my hair and absolutley no more damaging hair dyes, so all this shampoo and conditioner I'm trying to get through is going to last me even longer.

I think I will put the money aside... it might just stop me from buying the things in the future... I reckon it would pay for Christmas! :)

You can make up your own rules. If you want to put the money aside that's fine. An extra incentive:j For me this would never work as I'd either never have the actual cash to put away or always be dipping into the pot:o but if it works for you then go for it.

I've been good today. Was in Boots as I needed some Vitamins and supplements. They are on 342 and I managed to leave the shop with only 3 jars of vitimins:T I did have a look at the make up but I managed to resist the urge to splurge. I nearly spent the free £5 No7 voucher but as I couldn't get anything for £5 I behaved myself. Seems like such a waste though. For £1.50 I could have bought the wipes to add to my huge pile of wipes purchased in exactly the same way last year:o

Welcome to all the newbies:D Everyone has been added.
