padded bras for 7yr olds in BHS

i also think the hello kitty moulded bras are fine
my daughter is age 11 but tiny, she doesnt need bras BUT
she herself doesnt want to wear a vest or a cropped vest and most of them are lace trimmed(too itchy and annoying) and as most of her friends are in bras whether they need them or not she wants a bra too
its a rite of passage for girls in secondary school even for yr 7s
so...... of the bras on offer ,underwired plunge adult style? definitely not and ive never seen them with ages printed on them anywhere , ive had 3 girls ages from 11 to 17 and name me one shop that sells bras like that except in the usual 32 B or 36C marking system in the adult /teenager section ive never seen it and wouldnt buy it if it existed
so that leaves the thin bras or the moulded bras both are definitely available without wires in many stores
the thin ones i find are seamed to give a nipple effect which is also mortifying for young girls who find they cant fill the empty nipple area and uselss for covering up the nipples when changing for PE
dont even suggest girls this age want to strip stark naked for PE cos they dont and at the end of the day i take their feelings into consideration
so that mostly leaves the moulded cupped bras and why shouldnt they have hello kitty or batman on them, all the knickers say stuff and i dont think for one minute anyone wants to get into their pants
try and get the prudish brains under control and stop exagerrating , its my job to protect my daughter from predators nobody elses and my daughter does not walk down the local park in her underwear , its a bit like saying a grown woman deserves to be raped fo wearing a mini skirt ,
the bottom line is we all have to be sensible thereare dangerous individuals about there always have been and always will be but i do not call moulded bra cups sexualisation, they do a grand job of covering the breast area properly better than flimsy thin cotton non padded ones
i think the real culprit is underwiring which people object to as it digs in and also uplifts the breast again its splitting hairs , i can think of far worse tarty crime fashion disasters, im sure all your parents said the same in the sixties with hotpants miniskirts and short shorts worn by everyone from age 5 upwards , a lot of it is personal taste, the world will not grind to a halt

This entire thread just goes to prove how uneducated, knee-jerk reactionaries love to jump on a bandwagon without actually having the first clue what they are talking about  I bet they all read the Daily Mail/Express :rotfl:We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0

Even 7 yr old have nipples that can benefit from padding to hide them from view of perverts, it's more for a sense of discretion that an attempt to sexualise a minor. We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0 -

Now that's a girl who's been brought up right. Good for you:TI like my money right where I can see it - hanging in my closet.;)0 -
It's very easy to have a knee jerk reaction that says 7 year olds shouldn't wear padded bras but as my eldest DD is only 4 I've never seen one. When mothers of 7 year old girls post and explain the reasoning behind these molded cups then it all seems sensible to me. I can only hazard a guess as to whether one person's padded is another's molded but I certainly wouldn't want to be shouting too loud until I'd checked them out for myself and thought it through in a rational way.0

My daughter will be 16 this spring and she has only just been wearing 32 AA and 32A bras.
When you are behind your friends in that department it can be embarassing to be still wearing a crop top through your teens. I was pleased that she could wear bras bought in the childrens department and they certainly were not padded but like the other poster said just thicker material in the cups.
And to be honest this is not a shop not drop topic but would be better in the discussion thread. Perhaps the mods could move?2013
