I complained in Tammy a few years ago about how provocative the bras for young teens were (red and black satin and push-up types). Obviously I wasn't the only one as the local paper carried letters and articles about them.

Soon after that Tammy stopped selling them due to 'customer pressure' but other companies I'm sure, would continue to stock them.

Wasn't it BHS who were selling chocolate nipples and willies amongst their Christmas toys a few years ago?

They had a big section with stuff like that this year. It was just weird.
  • This thread has been running for a while now has anyone else seen them, or confirm checking their BHS and being unable to find them?

  • i think its awfull to be honest, my 13 year old had to get her first bra last year and was really mortified however my 4 year old demanded she wanted hers done so the m&s lady measured her up and she was running round the store shouting ive got big boobies and wanted to buy a huge pink bra:eek:
my 13 year old was totally the opposite and settled for a discreet white one bless her and thats the last shes mentioned it!:rotfl:
i dont think any kid should be going around in padded bras unless they need them, im sure my four year old would be over the moon if i bought her one but i wouldnt as its just not right.
sames as those knee length high heel black boots ive seen in the shoe shops, it just dont look good:confused:

  • This should really be moved to the discussions board. Anyway, to those people who say kids grow up too fast these days; wearing inappropriate clothing does not make them grow up, it just makes them targets for paedophilia and abuse by boys their own age, and candidates for teenage preganancy and STIs.

Before you jump down my throat, I am 23 so I am not some old fogey. I was always very mature for my age, but never felt the need or desire to dress inappropriately, and never had inappropriate clothing bought for me or suggested to me while out shopping with family members. I'd say it's strongly the parents' influence and that of some "celebrities" more than anything, although if the shops weren't making such attrocious items, people could not buy them so they're at the root of it all.

At 22, I bought my first ever padded bra, yet at age 6 I was reading Charles Dickens (unabridged) so you make your minds up at which age I was really grown up at?

I would also like to know if anyone has witnessed the offending article yet - and a picture would be good so we know what we are talking about here.

I've not been into town yet as it has been too icy to venture out!!
  • Well it's been a couple of weeks now. Has anyone actually seen the offending underwear, or was it all a Big Made Up Story?

Young girls today are lucky, in my day you did not get a bra until you were at least 14 I had to wear a vest and a liberty bodice and to be honest I was a well developed young girl by the age of 11 and I should imagine the pervs of my day would have got more of a thrill from our unsupported bosoms than if we had been well supported in a bra .
  • Just thought id add that there are other discussions on this on several "mums"forums all over the net at the moment so these bra's have been seen by other people other than the original OP
I took my little sister out with me earlier this month (she is 9) and we went in bhs and primark - BOTH of them had bras from age 7 up that were padded.

I have a son thankfully so will not have to deal with this, but my sister is one of them people who actually does NEED a bra..she is very skinny not over weight at all and has breasts you can clearly see-and when i say clearly- i mean VERY clearly..she has also started her periods already  and she has been this way for a year already- my poor mother is already dealing with the "teen temper" even though shes only 9 cause of this.
    Having a coke with you
is even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona
