  • Can you believe this?
My husband cleared out his desk drawer today and found £100 of M $ S vouchers that he had ordered in November to give me for Christmas and had FORGOTTEN ABOUT THEM!!!

I'm a bit stumped now as I am really set in the not spending mode. I think I might use them to buy mothers day gifts and so save some 'real' money to help with the Grocery Challange I am doing.
But nevertheless it seems a strange coincidence that just as I resolve not to spend, these turn up.

    Hey everyone.

Miss spent - what a fab OH you lucky thing :D

mrs. way - best not to do that monthly spending calculation, puts a real downer on the whole thing

gratefulforhelp - I'm not giving up  have too many clothes I love ( many unworn too :o ) in my previous size. But as each month goes by... I have a bit more to spend in the remaining ones or may just treat myself to a couple of fabby things when all the weight's gone  so fed up with myself I'm even refusing to use my m&s vouchers :(

janey07 - Well done on new stuff for a mere fiver & even better for getting rid of stuff, I'm quite ruthless now & have loads of room in my wardrobe :D

off to adjust your allowance right away

    Hi all,

Just thought I should check in and let you all know that I'm still on the straight and narrow :D

I can't believe that it's been two months (Nearly) and I have only spent £16.50 of real money!! My nearest New Look is closed for refitting, which may have something to do with it :rotfl:

I am heading to town at the weekend for a couple of non-clothes things, and I'm going to see if New Look have any nice sale things/cheap tops as I am running low on work tops and have a £10 voucher my flatmate gave me as he won't use it (Yay!) If I spend more than my tenner I will be here to confess!!

    Hello everybody,

Just letting you know also that I'm still on the straight and narrow too, although I think it's easier for me because there aren't any half decent shops here :rotfl:

I'm hoping to be able to make my own clothes when I decide I need something new, it's something I've done in the past so hoping to resurect some 'skills' ;) ( I use that term lightly).

It's good to see newbies to the challenge, good luck everybody.:T

    Toodles.

Hello all ..I am soooooo shocked more so that i havnt spent much money on my daughters clothing this year yet , but its her 3rd birthday in a couple ov weeks ...so im sure i will splash the cash on party wear etc for her very soon!!!!
And on an even better note i have just spent my first fiver on a top i treated myself to in Bay Trading sale the other day , so ive added it to my signature..not bad after a nearly two months !!:D
Got a major problem thow ..." ive got really really itchy feet to go buy a few outfits" my wardrobe is looking really drab and most of my comfy jeans this week are starting to look like they need chucking , especially my faves which i ripped the bottom of one leg off by accident the other day ..Oopps!!!
So i have kept away from clothes shops this yr best i can , so think i may have a venture to Primark this week for some bargains ..but if you peeps are anything like me i seem to nearly faint when i get to the till there with a basket full of £10.00 and under items which quickly accumulate when they are getting scanned ..lol !??? !
So i am thinking of entering the store with a figure in mind of how much to spend..i will be back to inform you if i succeded in my goal!!!

Glad to hear that everyone is beng very good still :D

I'm lucky in that there are food shops nearby & to go clothes shopping I have to go into actual town, where cinemas & theatres etc are. DD & I went to the cinema last friday & I was relieved she wanted to go to the 6 pm showing as I knew all the shops would be shut by then ;)

gratefulforhelp - my basic strategy is to eat less carbs, stodge & sweet stuff , more salads, fruit & veg & just generally do [STRIKE]more [/STRIKE]exercise  .
  • KEYS- Instead og a figure, why not think of something in particular that you want and agree with yourself your gonna buy just that but allow one thing extra only-but ONLY if you absolutely love it and can think of at least 3 things to wear with it!!

I explained the challenge to my boss today and she finds it all bizarre as she hates clothes shopping and is very money concious, i said i was going to primark during my lunch to look for a pair of jeans...she raised an eyebrow as she knows my normal shopping habits. enquired if it was safe for me to enter a shop and then asked if i actually needed the jeans, when i explained i wanted the jeans to go with a rather exensive pair of boots i bought last year, she queried why I bought the boots in the first place if they didn't go with much of what i had in the wardrobe already?? I hate smart people who point out the obvious

so i've done my first spend a whopping £10.28 bought me a pair of jeans and a long sleeve white top!! feel very proud with myself :D

I had 1 pancake with lemon, sugar and jam...rolled up, lovely :)

    hi NO-BRAIN,

congrats on your & new very cheap purchases :A .

Your boss is obviously not one of us eh ;) . I never buy something to go with something else unless it's in the same shopping trip eg ; last summer bought a lovely dress in Bay, then found a lovely pair of sandals that matched perfectly in Faith.... of course it was only a matter of time before I located a bag too courtesy of accessorize :D . Now to my mind that is a completely succesful shopping trip :j .

Off to update your allowance now
