The Crazy £100 Clothes Challenge

Hello,
I have decided to challenge myself to only spend £100 maximum on clothes during 2009
That's about what I spend normally. Maybe one decent pair of shoes, either a Matalan-type work suit or a new coat or pair of boots, maybe a couple of cheap shirts from Primark or a charity shop and a pack of new tights/socks/knickers/bras. Either/or, not and.
Maybe that's why it took me this long to get into a very small amount of debt.0 -
Welcome to pandapaws, JaneLiz ( you want to save your parents money ? please can I adopt you
) blackbelle & Buffy - yay :j .
Brilliant idea about tips Pandapaws :T. Respect to you for including the rest of the family too, if you save on their allowance you could add it on to yours. All cunning, sneaky & cheeky ( legal, of course) ideas for getting free clothes will be greatly appreciated.
You're all going on the front page now so there's no escape

Right I cheated a bit
just went and spent the last of my money(!) on four new tops in M and S
37 quid.
I had already done a big order from Asda (50 quid) and truthfully should be pretty much set now. So long as I have work clothes and a couple of decent meet friends for dinner tops I should be ok.
I bought very boring clothes I have to say all plain t shirts, all cotton and shall dress them up with accessories!
Got a fair bit of cleaning to do but need to return a pair of shoes to Asda and could pop in to Primark for cheap necklaces!!
I might even try dyeing some of my jeans a nice dark blue - would that be cheating?
I already feel like I have cheated but I normally do a shop now Asda sale was brilliant! M and S not so much but should get cash back.
sorry if you think I have cheated:o

its bonkers how guilty I feel now!Nevertheless she persisted.0 -

Anyone wanting cheap kids clothes, but really nice ones, there's a fab 'deal' available through Vertbaudet at the moment: £10 off a £10 spend and free delivery... i.e. free stuff!
Excludes 'happy price', sale reduced items and web exclusives. Enter code 2719 at checkout, click the 'new customer' box every time. There aren't many £10 items but there are lots of things for £11 so you pay just £1 for those.
There's a chance they may cancel some orders, but worth a gamble, nothing to lose. I've had loads from them in the past - you can register as a new customer lots of times! Beware, sizes can be VERY small so order bigger than you think you need.
Anyone else?!
I've just done this, thank you so much! Have you posted this on the discount codes forum?0 -

Hi again,
puss14 - you're in
redmel - thanks for the support & good luck with baby
Moo2 - thanks for the tips :A
SBC - thanks for the support, your revelation of not shopping for 3 years  was highly influential in my decision to do this challenge so :A & thank you. Feel free to pop in & help keep us motivated please.
Buffy & HonestBob - You have both been very cunning & wily so have no fear; what was bought in 2008 is of no consequence in 2009. According to my clock you still have another 8 + hours to go yet so feel guilt free to keep shopping.
As to dyeing clothes : great idea, have done it myself a few  times & any form of recyling/reusing clothes is great. I would recommend a certain 'body shape bible' book for fab tips on how to revamp/customise old clothes too.
The challenge commences at midnight tonight, I posted it a couple of days early so everyone had a chance to get stuff they 'needed' beforehand  .
If I dont manage to get back later then I wish everyone a Very Happy New Year's Eve& best of luck in this challenge
Thanks to all who are joining in & all who are offering support & great tips

I started my challenge today  with a spend of £20.13 for 4 tops from Mr S and Mr T
Thinking about the challenge meant I thought very carefully about what the items cost and whether they were worth it or not which meant I put a couple of things back and didn't buy anything from Peacocks sale.:j
Ho hum here we go then......GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!! :hello:
