mummy2mygirls, i think I'm right in saying that if we were given vouchers or money it would not count in the £100. After all they are gifts to us. I've spent some of my christmas money on a few nices bits. including a new new suit and blouse in P-mark! Not counting that in my £100.

    And I had a lovely surprise last week :j :j :j :j :j
I have my graduation ball at the end of the month and my ball gown fits :D
So that is a few bob saved, it's about 5/6 years old. And I have accessories to go with.

Although I gotta to be honest I was looking forward to a new dress, but nobody there will know it's old. Only worn it twice before. Anyway I was dead chuffed :D:D

Can't believe how good i'm being, I do wonder if it will keep up the whole year. Am aiming to put some stuff on Ebay, but maybe my eyes will wander to other items for sale :o

    Lol, LMMS x

    I have a question Lula...

I was given a £75 bonus from the big boss just before Xmas. I've to spend the money and claim it back on expenses. Can I buy some lovely red Converse All Stars without touching my £100 budget?

I've looked on eBay and can probably get them for under £30 then I'm going to invest the rest of the money in John Lewis vouchers (I can get £50 of vouchers for for £46 through work). I got £75 of JL vouchers from my boss for Xmas, so I'm going to add to these and keep hold of them till I get a house in, erm, about 4 years :rotfl:

I've decided to do this with all bonuses in future, so this will encourage me to work extra hard and be extra fabulous at work for the next few years - then the company can buy me a beautiful piece of furniture for my new house!

Anyway, this is about clothes! Can I get the Converse for "free" please Lula?? If not, I'll have to wait a few months and get them out of my allowance!
£27k (excluding interest) paid off in 29 months
    Finally debt free!

I would love to join in too please.

I am in need of some new clothes and don't have much money to buy them with so I think this challenge will encourage me to bargain hunt.

I am getting a Jane Norman jacket from a nice lady on Freecycle tomorrow :D .

:rotfl: Yeah, I have got a bit of thing about Converse!! But my brown ones and pink patchwork ones have lost their grip (!) and if I could get them re-gripped (?) in a good DFW way I would, but I don't think you can  It's a shame cos they're in really good nick, but they just don't grip - specially when it's icy like today.

I have been mooching about on tinterweb though and might go for something completely practical instead. I'm looking at inflatable double mattresses because I'm getting too old to be kipping on my brother's sofa on my monthly trips up north!

    Hmmm... Converse or a mattress????

    That's easy :

auntie Lula says "Go enjoy your converse all stars with my blessing & just a touch of envy :o "

Hello & welcome to all newcomers, nice to see you emily & great news on the jacket :D . I must try to remember my freecycle password :o so I can post up all the clutter I need to get rid of.

blackbelle - brilliant resistance :A I think I'm also going to avoid clothes shops & shoe shops, bag shops, jewellery shops... in fact any kind of shop apart from grocery type ones :( until the end of the month at least.

It's heartening to see so many people in a similar situation ie : having loads of clothes that we are really determined to get into this year. It's great reading how everyone is really thinking before actually buying too :D . Most of us really have a finite amount to spend on clothes; I still would even if I wasnt a DFW & it's only recently that I've actually realised that :o. Living within a budget has been a revelation & I'm slowly coming to terms with the fact that I still  need to do that after I've paid off the CCs if I want to remain debt free  .

    bye for now,

    lula

Am getting very motivated by this now, 5 whole days and no new clothes:D Have just seen some lovely clothes in an online sale at my fave shop but was very sensible and clicked off it quickly. I bought more than enough from there just before Christmas:o

Am going to spend the weekend sorting out my wardrobe, I will pile them into keep/bin/charity shop and hopefully just have nice things left. I hate throwing things out but I think I will find it very a good learning experience and I will finally have more space.

    P.S SuSu, definitely the Converse!
