When the iniquitous BACS/ bunce system finally bites the dust, it may be time to consider ones' moral stance on bank errors in the customers favour, but until then, anybody making an error when dealing with money must accept the consequences.
I once mis-typed the date of a payment to a credit company. I found the fault on the day of payment, made as much of a payment in cash as I could raise on that day, the rest the next day. I was fined £26!!!!0 -
As someone said previously, stick it into an Instant Access account (Tescos online one still pays 6%)
It's their error (one of many I suspect)
If they realise their c*ck up (doubtful) then give it back.
It's their own stupid fault for being so incompetent! If it's not a bargain, it's not worth buying0 -
tricky one this one,i paid £1000 in cash into my bank the other day, being an avid reader of martins forum i always check my payin in slip and noticed the cashier had only typed in £100.Glad i checked before i left the bank, just goes to show mistakes happen....Grudgingly i'd give it back OP..even after nearly losing £900,plus if, as they'd paid you too much money, it could have been my money you were thinking of keeping2 kWp SEbE , 2kWp SSW & 2.5kWp NWbW.....in sunny North Derbyshire17.7kWh Givenergy battery added(for the power hungry kids)0
