Hi folks. Merry Christmas to you all. I haven't been on here for ages but am definately going to become an addict again in 2009. I have managed to add nearly £1,000 to my debt this last month. I did get some bargains mind you  . I am annoyed at myself and am going to be much more organised next year.
I have decided that the money I get each week from my ex will be what I use to pay off my debt. I will pay the minimum payments from my wage and then pay an additional £65 per week to the highest interest rate. I am going to pay off Argos first as it takes silly rates when the interest kicks in. I have 3 months interest frr but really want it paid by February. I will concentrate on the Virgin card then until April and I will then ned to get a balance transfer if I can as my 0% for that runs out then.
I will then let the snowball tell me what to concentrate on after that.
I really really need to make a difference this year as I am so sick of being in debt.
I have paid off loads this year but have just messed up by spending way too much on Christmas as per usual.
I am going to set up a direct debit into my savings account each month for £100. This will allow a cheap holiday each summer for us and also give me money for Christmas and hopefully this will stop me from doing the same thing next year.
I am dumping my old diary but here is the link for anyone with the burning desire to read all the many entres and sometimes ramblings of a mad woman.

Right that's me set up my standing order to my savings account. I will use that for a wee holiday inthe summer and for next Christmas. I have discovered this year that that was what I ended up adding to my cards. Dunno about the rest of you lot but when I use my cards then I always spend more than I would if I was using cash. I am an intelligent person !! So why the hell am I so stupid when it comes to credit cards?? . NO MORE.
I am going to cut them up today once and for all. I will have a wee ceremony later lol.
I have been really remiss recently in completing my surveys as well so I will have to get back into that and also my clicks as I haven't bothered with those either . What a lazy cow I have been. I am ashamed. Well I'm not really but I should be.
Going shopping with the kids today with their Christmas money and really have to buy DD some clothes as she has grown so much she has hardly anything to wear. I have convinced her to use her own money for the majority of it though. Luckily DD is a cheapo and loves primark ( I loathe it) so thats where we will be heading. Then I am off to my mums for a family dinner so that should be nice. Hope everyone is well and on the wagon xx

Hi MIT, haven't posted on you thread before, but thought I'd pop in and say hi....
Totally know what you mean about the credit cards... thats how I went from just over £2k left on the cards to nearly £6k:eek:
Enjoy the shopping,, especially Primani! I can't stanf the shop, its always like a jumble sale.... and nothing ever fits me'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars' - Oscar Wilde0 -

Hey there millionaire - good idea with the savings standing order
I recently did the same thing after realising that I hadn't actually budgeted for either a summer holiday or Christmas..... ever! It's a good reliable way to save for the common niceties of life without having to put yourself out too much.
All the best for the new year.0 -

Bogies He he I forgot about that!
Thanks forthe welcomes. Been a bad lass Buzz and been spending but hey ho I'm back to sort it out.
Edinburgher I set it up today and can only hope that I can manage to keep it in the account and not tuch it except for Christmas and hols. Not a great isciplinarian when it comes to saving. Going totry really really hard as it is more or less the money have had reduced from my mortgage payments with the interest rates going down so it really is no hardship to save it. Except for the fact I will want to spend it :rotfl: .
Sarah-needle Primani never fits me either but luckily it fits my daughter beautifully an she loves it. She spent £64 in it today and got loads and loads. Silly ne though as I didnt realise that the 20euro note she got was within her other Christmas money and we have managed to spend it somewhere.
She has her trip to Austria in 3 weeks and has no spending money yet for it so she will have to get the hat out and go a begging lol.
Got offered a table on freecycle tonight and looks like I have missed it as they wanted it picked up today  . Hopefully they will call and I can get it tomorrow. Hope you are all well xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
