Boots Grabbit Bargains Part 5

[as I'm off to India tomorrow and Johnson's factor 30 seemed a bargain at just over £3.
No Time Delay under £8 in either of the Swindon stores I visited and DR is not bogof either, so guess the vouchers will remain unused unless the airport Boots has stock![/QUOTE]
If you are going from Heathrow - you could be in luck, plenty of TD but the airport branches do not stock Danielle Ryman. Also it is tax free so some of the items that are normally over £5 are just under.0 -
i read somewhere (i think old style MS boards) that sun cream loses a factor a year.:A Boots Tart :A0

Picked up 3 TD items today (all priced around £8 - 9) SA ranted and raved today that only one TD voucher per customer and she has been trained for that!!!
She agreed it said one per transaction, but asked me to hand over any other vouchers I had. I refused and left with my one purchase with her shouting after me "I will not go against my training" lol.
Only later I realised I had forgotten to pickup some more leaflets on the way out.
Not sure if I'm brave enough to risk going back in again as it it only a very small branch.0 -

A friend told me it's because it's old stock and therefore might not be as efficient as it should be, so you should get a higher spf than you usually would. Does anyone know if that's correct? Bought some anyway as I'm off to India tomorrow and Johnson's factor 30 seemed a bargain at just over £3.
I used to work for Boots and as far as I know as long as the sun cream is not opened it stays effective. I was told that once it was opened the protection factors begin to break down although it could still be used as moisturiser for the following summer with no problems. Each product usually has a picture of an opened jar or suchlike and a date next to it eg 12m which indicates how long an item lasts once it is opened. Hope this helps a bit although I know it's not a definitive reply!
Asked the SA in Boots the other day about that "Opened Jar" symbol and her exact words were "I've never seen that before!". Couldn't believe it! Hopefully she'll never transfer to the pharmacy. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I've heard a couple of TD greed stories from a couple of different Boots over the last few days when I've been buying 2 at a time.
In one store a woman cleared all the under £5 off the shelf and handed over about 30 vouchers - none for anyone else.
In another a woman took the whole pile of brochures and sat on the floor with a scissors and cut all the vouchers out - left the brochures on the floor - and handed all the vouchers over with loads & loads of vouchers.
No wonder Boots are trying to limit to 1 per customer - but NO excuse for rude assistants.0 -
I've just been looking at eBay. Was absolutely disgusted with people selling these vouchers, so....
I put my own auction on their (at the huge price of 15p - worth every penny as if it doesn't sell, I don't pay) for FREE vouchers.
Hopefully eBay won't take this auction off, as if people acutally want to pay the .01pand accept the free
postage then I'm happy to supply. :rotfl:
If anyone wants some peach booklets with all vouchers PM me and I'll send what I have left. I'm off to the small Boots (with the SA who thinks it's a hoot) to get some lilac ones (PM me for those) and to see if they have any aromatherapy items there.
Happy day to all. :T:think: If you want the rainbow, you've gotta put up with the rain :hello:0 -
