DWP employment waiting list

Hi, hopefully someone can help!!
I applied for an AO position in the St Austell office in December. I sat and passed the tests and was invited and went for an interview. I had a letter last week to say that I had been successful and enclosed a crb form for me to complete within 5 days and some other info they wanted. My refereee's have also had a form which they have filled in and sent back. There has been no mention of any waiting list at any point in this process. I am desperate to leave my current job and am wondering if anyone knows what will happen next!! I know there will be no problem with the crb.
Many thanks.Debt free = December 2010...as of March 2006 it is now January 2010..... as of December 2008 it is now December 2009 :j hopefully sooner!!:jDEBT FREE:j January 2012, took longer but I got there, all by myself, through sheer hard work and pride!0 -
DWP AO post - Jobcentre Plus. A quick question: my brother is in bits at the mo. He passed the test and thinks that the interview went well for an AO post but he has a criminal record that is spent. Has anyone been offered a post with a spent conviction? Apologies for the personal nature of the query but I am trying to reassure him that all is not lost!

Nope im on a waiting list - still waiting to hear from them - I've been on waiting list for a week or so now
Just got a letter saying I had passed interview and if an opportunity arises we'll contact you but there is no guarantee but they do hope to offer me a position
you?
yupps this is what i heard from them as well in Jan....i finished my tests & interview in dec...but due to christmas break the candidates were contacted only in jan.....i got my CRB forms, past employment info requirement etc in the 2nd week of feb....CRB checks etc takes abt 20 wrking days....which area have u applied in?0 -
im a recruiter im there everyday lol!!
well it depends on how many vacancies there are and how far down the list you are as they may only want 10 but are checking 20! which is ok if you are numbers 1-10 but after that your relying on people failing the checks!
generally though at the minute even if you aren't part of the first intake there's more than likely gonna be more positions coming up!
don't let that stop you applying for other positions on the website though as your only on the waiting list for one position - it doesn't mean you will be considered for other positions like many people think!
EDIT: they will phone you once your checks are back to say whether you'll get a job or be placed on a waiting list
I'm on a waiting list in 30th position for an AO - 21 vacancies exist at present so does that mean i would be 9th on list? :S- I havent been asked for any checks as of yet but how long do you think it will take? (considering current economic climate) will there be more postiions in few weeks for AO's?
Do people normally fail the CRB checks and then DWP get more people from waiting to list to fill their spaces?0 -
If I didn't get passed the application stage, can I apply again for the same role should they advertise in the near future?0
-
can you do the form for me? (only joking)! Actually, did you say you were a recruiter? Do the DWP have a centralised recruitment function?0

hiya,
all these crb forms and references etc, i was given all of these to fill in the day i passed the tests, and hand to give them back in with my interview.

it just means they can move quicker. to be honest you've pretty much answered your own question (if only more people could do this WITHOUT PHONING ME... lol)
basically if you pass the interview they'll send the forms if you don't the forms will be scrapped.
i passed the interview..... got the letter yest, im just 77 in a list of 80 waiting for vacnacies now!! :rolleyes:Please be nice to all moneysavers!
