    Here i am again, i have just managed to speak to a very helpfull person at Newcastle, that has just told me the freeze was lifted on Monday, and the delay now is just the backlog, not being helped by the postal strike.

    HURRAAHHHH :T:T

    Getting quite giddy now:rotfl::rotfl:
  • Here i am again, i have just managed to speak to a very helpfull person at Newcastle, that has just told me the freeze was lifted on Monday, and the delay now is just the backlog, not being helped by the postal strike.

    Also being joint 4th on the list I asked where i was overall, and he said 7th, but the person in 6th has failed the CRB check so i am now 6th as all my checks have come back ok. So my information has been passed on and he said wait for a call from your line manager. So things look like they are moving again WHOOHOO.

    hmm that does seem weird regarding the "freeze". Did he mention whther this freeze had been lifted nationwide or just your area. It does seem strange that the freeze only lasted a few days...I haven't chased them up yet for my one. Will give it a couple more days and see how it goes.

    Good luck to everyone still waiting for that all important call.

    Do you know if the freeze has been lifted everywhere or just for your area? Thanks
  • I was in the 1:15pm intake, look at my post previous to this for some good news.

    did you speak to kevin?
    this is why posters get frustrated on this forum.
    they tell one person one thing and another person another thing.
    so, they now reckon the freeze is lifted?

    I spoke to a person called Gary, as far as he was concerned the freeze has been lifted in all areas.

    and how has this "gary" been able to give you your position on the merit list when kevin knew nothing about any lists.

    Spoke to my adviser at JCP today and she said that as far as she knew there was just a 'head count', and that as far as she was aware recruitment was still ongoing.

    Anyway, still going to take this other job next week to put me on for a bit, as may be a few months before I hear seeing as my letter saying I was successful was only dated 4th September. Much prefer to work for DWP even though they have put us all through hell:rotfl:
  • does make sense them saying freeze has been lifted seeing as i got call yesterday. hope so guys.
