Hi,
Thank you very much for your email, I am so sorry to hear that you’re going through such a tough time at the moment. I would really appreciate if you get the chance to fill out the questionnaire attached which would help us find out a little more about you.
Then, if this documentary is something that you’d like to hear more about, I can give you a call and we can talk further.
I look forward to hearing from you soon,
Kate

it's hard been unemployed, i've lost all sense of who i am, i've got no rountine so my days are just passing me by, i'm starting to sleep longer in the mornings and i'm still awake at night times, feeling pretty useless today and a little sorry for myself i suppose ha ha.
i wanted to start some part time study at the local college to keep my mind working and give me something to work towards but then i was scared of taking a course on incase it gets in the way of working times if the DWP do call me.
feel a little lost tonight, hope you don't mind me having a share with you all.0 -

i called the DWP again today.
not sure what i think i'm going to acheive when i keep ringing, but you find yourself doing it anyway.
i always speak to a guy named kevin.
i wanted to know about this list that people quote, but he said there is only really a waiting list and that is used for when people have scored higher enough to pass interview but there is no job for them as yet, so they receive a letter advising they are been placed on a 12 month waiting list.
but my letter wasn't that.
people talk of what place they are on this merit list, i don't know why he said there was no such thing, people must have got that information from somewhere.
i asked him if this exercise that JCP are conducting is a real exercise or are they just palming us off.
he said it was real and happening.
but, the only answer you ever want is a start date isn't it.
he gave me a contact name and telephone number for the guy who has been dealing with the pre-recruitment checks for my IRC.
i want him to confirm in email that my checks have been conducted and that they are satisfactory.
atleast i could tick that off then.0 -

the merit list is based on how many jobs are avilable ie if there are 100 jobs then the highest scoring 100 people get put on merit list, then all the other successful ppl are placed on waiting list agn on a scale of how well they did in interview, however for some areas there were no waiting lists (like my IRC) there were 300 jobs so upto 300 sucessful candidates were put through all others were treated as unsucessful, hope that clears it up for ya x0 -

thanks for that.
see, he must have known that, it just frustrates me when they give one applicant a different answer to another.
which area are you in?
i applied to hyde, north west. IRC61866 (i say this like a prison number now) kim hyde north west, number 61866 ha ha.
when i asked in the beginning how many jobs there were, he said nationwide but 30 posts for hyde.
i think i'll ask this other guy who has been dealing with the checks for this IRC the same question tomorrow.0 -

oooh i know what u mean about the prison thing , mind u they shud of locked me up yrs ago :rotfl::rotfl: i am in south yorkshire area hunny, the trouble is every1 tells u something different, i have given ujp phoning now, but if u do call always try and speak to the 1 whos dealing with that number or that area, they usually better, let us know how u get on xx0 -
All the talk of nobody answering the phone makes me laugh, they are obviously failing their customer service targets, so somebody will be probably sending an email about good customer service i.e. answer your phones so we meet our targets.
When I spoke to the local recruitment office the reason for the delay is they simply are not prepared for the influx of new starters, mainly not enough places on training courses or desk space within offices, just shows how badly organised things are.0
