DWP employment waiting list

heh still waiting, they keep not calling me back as well. I presume that if you had failed the checks for any reason you'd get a dear john letter through the post?0

:j OMG!!!! I just spoke to a human being! lol
I received the "I am pleased to tell you that you have been successful" letter dated 15/05/2009 obviously ages ago! I phoned up the number and they told me the name of the 'checker' and that he'd only posted the CRB form to Disclosure Scotland on the 28th May. I phoned Dis. Sco. and they received it yesterday! Once that's OK'd they do the HMRC checks and then the refs, so it looks like several more weeks of carp TV for me!0 -

just on that, the reason i was calling is that they'd contacted my employers (error with HMRC) a few weeks ago but Disclosure Scotland hadn't received an application form for me, so it's possible that all other checks are being run concurrently.0 -

It is a rather drawn out affair, you would think, what with the job being with Jobcentre Plus, they would be a little more sensitive to the needs of prospective employees!! lol!! Did you attend the numeracy & literacy tests on the 17th at the UEA?
I agree with your sentiments. Well this is going to sound very strange but I turned up to the UEA on 17th but did not have to sit the tests because when I took the tests for the AO vacancies my scores were EO standard, so the next step was EO interview at Norwich. Incidentallly I was unsuccessful at AO!!!!!!!
When I last spoke to George at Newcastle about IRC 58380 he said that he received the papers on 8 May his team needed 20 working days so he reckoned the papers would be back with Recruitment about 9 June for them to start sorting out start dates and ringing round. I hope this makes sense.
What is the story from your end?0 -

Fairly similar, although I wasn't given a date, just told that as far as he could see I had passed all checks and that I was waiting for the recruitment office to confirm a start date, he did say he would ring back but never did. All your dates seem to match mine including the success letter dated 26th April so hopefully we will both hear something around the 9th June! Fingers crossed!!0 -

I also 'failed' at AO interview and then was successful at EO interview. In the meantime I was rejected at application (no interview) for an AA job !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please can someone explain the so-called sifting exercise!0 -

Has anyone applied for the Kent recruitment drive for EOs?
Interview (Ashford): 21st April
Success (no waiting list) letter: 15th May
Reference: IRC58390
Would love to hear from anyone who's part of the same process.0 -
To all previous, present and “future” DWP employees - My experience with DWP – I Finally have a start date!!!! J
Job: Benefit Delivery Officer/BDO/Band B
DEC 2008 – Applied
8TH JAN 2009 – Took tests
13TH FEB 2009 – Attended Interview
24TH FEB 2009 – Wrote to me – passed & on waiting list
7TH & 8th APRIL 2009 – CRB form sent to me to fill in and send back to DWP to send off to Scotland
20th APRIL 2009 – Pre-recruitment checks being done
21ST APRIL 2009 – Request to complete health, character, criminal record forms again (already done at interview but had expired)
14th MAY 2009 – DWP sent my CRB off to Scotland for processing
01 JUNE 2009 – CRB back from Scotland, checks come back all clear
02 JUNE 2009 – Phone call to ask me which location I want to work and start date!
That’s my experience with DWP and all in all, I was on the waiting list for 14 weeks! – I remained positive and very patient and kept on following up everything (CRB, Checks, waiting list position, interview score etc)
Would have preferred a customer faced role but I'm not complaining! (still on waiting list, checks being done for AO positons too)
I’d like to say a special thanks to each and every person who contributed on this forum with their advice, feedback, experiences and help to do with DWP and recruitment process. Special thanks go to those already working for DWP as well those who will be soon (hopefully). I’d like to wish people the best those who are applying/on waiting list/awaiting checks and hope you all get a start date soon (when you get the call, it’s a great feeling) – especially after waiting so long!
Thanks for reading and hope I didn’t bore you too much: P lol
