Well young carolt you would have to be 39 right now for that 20 year age gap. Yes also a very fed up leftie with the left. I am not sure my participation in the riots of Grosvenor Square in the 60`s was very patient. Or that my marching against Thatcher, racism, cruise missles were done with the best of manners but goodness knows I couldn`t sit on my butt and do nothing. Many would disagree with me but they were times of small glories. Fleeting times of solidarity.
I am sad that, even with the advantage of the internet, no one organises this kind of thing any more. I am scared to think that people are dumbed down with their "Big Brother House" mentality, plasma brains and hardwood floor aspirations that the system has won. We could be entering dangerous times.0 -
I like nickmason's posts, just as I like anyone who I think tries to add a bit of balance and rationality to their posts. I bought that Escher, Godel and Bach book by the way! Need something to take my mind off things at the moment.
Mewbie keeps me entertained, Generali teaches me a lot and SingleSue I respect greatly.
Amcluesent, well, I'm sure something relevant was misattributed to Voltaire

It is indeed, and I do get insomnia pretty badly. I really like your username actually! Has a good ring to it. “I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -

LIKE THIS PS ITS MY LAPTOP EYBOARDIt is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
