yes i was wondering if he had found somewhere or whether he is expecting you to change your mind and not evict him? I would be a bit concerned about this. Hope he isn't going to move in with the gf!!!
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

He is moving in with his GF actually! They've found a flat and should be moving before the end of the month. Bonus.0 -

Him, maybe...she on the other hand may not be thanking me so much in a few months time when she's been burgled, got no milk and has to scoop pubes out of the shower before using it  poor lamb doesn't know what she's in for!!0 -
Well, the annoying one has supposedly moved out...although he's still got a few bits to pick up, and the room is FILTHY and the walls are covered in blu-tack...someone aint getting much deposit back methinks...
Gutted, just showed someone round and she took one look at the room and was like "er, no thanks". And I can't say I blame her, the rest of the house was sparkling but she's only got my word that the room's not still going to be a hovel in a week's time
My friend has kindly offered to come round on Friday nite to paint the room for me, because I can't do it with my dodgy arm. Have promised yummy tea in returnwe're going to spruce the room up, get it clean & painted and then make it look all nice and inviting.
So relieved that he's gone, just need to get someone else in now to help with the money!0 -

yay he's gone
sorry about state he left room in
just a thought but up here you can
pay anything form £30 an hour for a painter
and there is your time for cleaning the room
£25 per hour
2 hours to paint £60
4 hours to clean £100
and then there is materials
think you could make it so he doesnt get
any deposit back
and it would serve him right
might be an idea to change the locks as you dont know
if he has made a copy of the keys
or it that just my nasty mind working

Well, he's gone!!! One day late, the room is filthy and the walls need repainting, but praise Jebus, he be gone!!! :j
Unfortunately, nice lodger has also handed in his notice, as he's moving in with his lady friend. It's all on good terms though, we've both said how much we've enjoyed living together. It's actually quite good that I'm advertising both at the same time to be honest, as it's just as easy looking for two housemates as one.
Got one lady almost ready to put a deposit on the annoying lodger's room, and she sounds great - she has a housetrained house cat too, hurrah!!! Had a good chat with her the other night and she seems really sound.
Got another lady coming round on Friday to have a look at nice lodger's room, so we'll see where that goes.
Feeling quite optimistic about it all really, as they say, a change is as good as a rest, and it'll be different living with all girls again, if it ends up like that! Although I'm glad I'm on the pill now, cause I synchronise really badly!!
Being very strict with my money this month as I may have a reduced income if things don't quite work out lodger-wise, but I should easily break even. If there's any left at the end of the month it'll go off the debts.
AND I've lost a total of 16lb so far this year, 9lb of it after joining Murphy's! :T Will be back in those skinny jeans in no time!0 -
Well, it's all go-go-go Chez HOOS!!
I have;
- The lady with the cat moving in in September (into the dweeb's former room)
- A lady from Spain taking the room over the summer (fills the gap, and I can practice my ropey grasp of espanol!!)
- a lad after nice-lodger's room asap for 6 months, which is good as nicelodger is ready to move out, so I wont have to make him pay his notice, saving him a month's rent - everyone's a winner!
So, it looks like it may all be working out...just waiting for something to go wrong, it's all going too smoothly!!
As expected, the annoying one left the room completely filthy, AND had the cheek to send me a text saying he'd cleaned it!!! Does he really think that placing a dry, unused cloth on the windowsill, amongst the undisturbed layer of dust and mould (apparently the only damn window he doesn't open is his own!!!), will convince me that it must have been cleaned?? There are herds of dust-bunnies roaming around the room, for goodness sake!!
The condensation in the room was so bad that I've currently got the blinds soaking in a bleachy bath upstairs. Soooo not amused. And sooooo not parting with much of his deposit!!!
Any ideas what it would be reasonable to charge for;
- cleaning of whole room, which had not been cleaned the entire time he lived here
- bleaching of blinds
- fixing broken curtain rail (which he never bothered to inform me of)
- re-painting walls due to extensive blutack staining.
What a total bumhole. It's bad enough leaving the room in that state full stop, but he know's I'm injured as well, so it's even worse!!! Grrr.
Might post that in the lettings section as a question I think...0 -
Yay for good sounding new lodgers, that was fast.
Gah for the cleaning etc required.
Dunno what to suggest. I'd probably be so happy to see the back of him I wouldnt bother
Hows the job going?0 -
