  • AAARRRGH he's had one shower (40 mins long) at around 9:30 this morning, and is now in again, has been for 20 minutes!! And in the meantime was slamming around downstairs being generally inconsiderate and noisy.

I don't say this about many people, but I think I actually hate him. 35 days to go...
  • OK, some actual good news now...it would appear that I can get 0% on BTs in the first 3 months with my new card! Wasn't expecting that...

I phoned up to do it and the woman wasn't able to find details on the system yet about my rate, but said to just send a letter with a copy of my letter saying 0% for 15 months with a request for the balance transfer and they'd do it that way. Woopedeedoodah!

So will get that sorted today. That'll save me a truckload of interest, so that's great news. Yay! :T
  • HOOS – well done on reducing your debts by so much! Very pleased for you. :jAt the rate you are going, your DFD will be so much closer. Well done you. :)

Sorry to hear about your work situation, really hope that improves for you.

HOOS congratulations on getting the debt down so much.

Slinging out horrible, nasty tenant will be horrible and nasty for you for about 10 minutes. Then you will feel like a weights been lifted.

You could make yourself a sort of Advent Calendar, a count-down door for every day and a great big double door with a piccy of a giant jaffa cake to celebrate him going. :jThe actual jaffa cakes will of course be available in your thief-free cupboards, just saves you having to make a calendar the size of a small country :D Any excuse for pritt sticks and glitter really :o

And stick with work. probably nobody's ever had the nerve to challenge them on their appalling record. They won't want those facts made public and may well suggest you "compromise" and go. Compromise means money cos they know they're wrong.

    Hi HOOS,
Great guns on the debts. Sometimes it's just making that decision isn't it, and you certainly seem to have done that - way to go! and glad you've made a decision on the Blodger - he doesn't deserve your patience - 1 month to go and counting eh!
Keep it up, and hope you get something sorted about work soon - the HSA must be able to do something if they're not sticking to guidelines - have they done risk assessments and followed H&S guidelines as these are legal requirements for any business now - fingers crossed for you and your collegues...

  • Thanks guys :) yep, not looking forward to telling him he's going, but I know it will be such a relief when he's gone!

Kissjen - LOVE the calendar idea, am definitely up for anything involving glitter! Will dig out my craft box tomorrow!! (Wonder what my one-handed collage skills are like?!)

I'm struggling with the intense boredom at work, but musn't let them beat me and make me give up and leave, that would just be dancing to their tune. I DANCE TO NO-ONE'S TUNE BUT MY OWN, DAMMIT! (Even in my street-dance class, where I really should do...)
  • Well...it's done. Notice given. Felt like a total b*tch, but I was as nice as I could be about it. One month to go now.

Now, bring on the queue of freaks that is the potential housemate search!! Give me strength...

In work/money news, the continuation of the incompetence I was half expecting happened, my boss didn't send the info about my return to work back to HR on time (she had a good 10 days after my return to beat the cut-off date) so I've been on half pay all month. Excellent.

The worst thing is, she must have known that she didn't make the deadline, as she did send it in, just really late, and didn't bother to let me know to expect it and make arrangements if needed. And why should she bother, cause she's been on annual leave all week, so it's not like she had to be there when I found out.

It should be sorted out though, as I phoned up the payroll team and they're sorting out a bank transfer on Monday for the remainder of my pay. I'm assuming it'll be a BACS rather than CHAPS so will get the money by Thursday. Ho hum.
  • Did my Race for Life today...ran all the way round and did it in 30 mins 31 seconds...6 mins less than last year, but 4 mins more than my personal best...aiming for under 25 mins next year! Very pleased with myself. Also did well to remember the suncream as it's hot as hell and I have skin that could only be described as irish/albino...burns under bright lightbulbs!

Really enjoyed the race, it's amazing how much easier it is to run in a group, my competitive streak really pushes me to work harder! I didn't see the 4k sign, and was thinking "slow and steady, save yourself for the last 1k" so when I saw the 500m to go sign I ran my little stumpy legs off :) Feel great now, actually want to go for another run...but I'll have a lie down and that'll soon pass!

Between me and my friend we raised over £300 so I'm pleased with that.
