Well done on the Lodger last rites and for the Race for Life - way to go on both!

What a total Biatch your boss must be - I bet she'd be the first up in arms if someone did it to her - at least they will sort it for you - and now the system has changed on BACS, if your bank is signed up to the new system, you should get it pretty quick (same day as they do it usually, but don't quote me on that)

  • Hmm...I hope that's the case, but our place and signing up to new stuff that would help the employees out...well, they don't have a great track-record there! (raises mangled hand as exhibit A...)

:rotfl:(sorry, not laughing at the mangled hand, just the idea of your company doing something to help you :o) It's the banks that have done this, not companies - finally, they understand that if we pay out something from our banks, the person who is receiving it should get it at the same time (well, we are all computerised now aren't we???) I know when I do a BACS transfer to anyone now, they get it about 2 mins after I've sent it? Hope that is the same for your money...

  • Ooh hopefully...I know that annoying-lodger pays by standing order and that still seems to take 3 days, whereas nice lodger pays by online transfer and that arrives the same day. Another reason to like him better, ha ha!

Oh well, I'll know when I check my bank after work!!

Well done on the run and issuing notice.

    Was he expecting it?

Gah for work being rubbish sorting out pay. Have had similar in past - boss knew they were changing how/when contractors got paid, didnt bother telling anyone so had to survive on 3 days pay for a month, sometimes I'm glad to be a permie.

Somehow, despite me having growled every time he came near me in the last few months, apparently not?!!

    Incredible.

Glad to hear the 'dirty deed's been done - can't believe he is that obtuse though....obviously thinks he's the perfect lodger.....:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

  • Poor misguided boy. I feel a bit sorry for him tbh, I guess he just doesn't *get it* on many, many levels. Still, feeling relieved now it's done.

:j:beer:at finally getting the lodger out. but :eek:at how your work is treating you. You would so have a case at a tribunal, not necessarily for the injury but for how they are flouting the law etc with regard to your returning to work and the assessments etc.

Well done you on the HSE thing. I hope something comes of that.

Had a really sh*t day in work. I was given some stuff to do which involved me moving files by my manager while she was off. I tried to be as careful as possible and used a trolley, but I overdid it and sprained my good wrist slightly. Only a little bit and not something serious, but I thought I should be responsible about it and put it in the accident book, as then I could point out that it's not really suitable for me and could they find me something else.

I went to ask my manager for the accident book today and she took off on me about it, saying "I told you to get someone to move the files for you!" (1. she didn't and 2. doing so would have meant disturbing my very busy and stressed colleagues every 5 minutes to say "Could you please move this file from one side of my desk to the other?" - annoying for them and somewhat humiliating for me)

I said, yeh sorry, I tried to be careful but there weren't many people in and I didn't want to be hassling people all day. She then said "I'm really disappointed in you" to which I laughed, because I thought she was joking. She looked at me deadly serious and then said "Why don't you listen to what I tell you to do?"

I just went "ok" and went back to my desk, then dealt with it the dignified, adult way by crying in the toilets for half an hour. She spoke to me like a naughty schoolchild in front of my team members. I felt so humiliated.

At the end of the day, she shouldn't have left me work that would obviously involve me lifting files!! And yes, I should have refused to do it, but I didn't feel able to. I !!!!!!!g will from now on!!!

Urgh. So it begins. Belittling and humiliating me until my position is untenable and I leave. Unfortunately, seeing as they crippled me, I can't leave, so let them do their worst cause I ain't going anywhere. More's the pity.
