well done on the growing things! always seems such a good idea but I never get round to it. Do strawberries usually not grow for that long? I would need to be really patient...

  • Hey skint spice, ds1's strawberries have taken so long to grow as sowed them from seed and it was a cheap kiddies kit from a supermarket. The fruit on it is so so tiny! The strawbs in the planter are ones i bought from aldi last year, they didnt do much last year but this year they are full and plenty and have produced some good sized fruit.

Thinking of other stuff i could now grow in my pot-io (ha ha ha ha) ummmm, i wonder.

I know but still couldnt resist!!!!! *goes to sit in corner of room*

Well, have got my rota for july and have worked out that all in all i should have 192 hours under my belt, yep, they have given me some overtime again!!!! Luckily it is a better pattern of shifts this time. Think they cut it off this month as had 3 days sick last month. But it means that i can majorly overpay the hbos cc and by the end of august it should be under £1k!!!!!!!!:D (thats the plan anyways)

Hellooooo brokeatthe minute, good luck on your debt free journey!!!!!
Helloooo to all me lovely ladies!!!!! hope all is well????

Hi there....i love your little veg patch, it's great!! you could do to get yourself an allotment......did you see River Side Cottage lastnight??? they were growing strawberries in wellies, old pop bottles and just about anything they looked great, I love that programme, I have had a few strawberries off my mine but not in abundance (wonders if my grandkids keep eating them? I caught the little urchins pulling my cherries off when they had just appeared....KIDS!!!! :D
You sound like you have got a lot of overtime next month:eek: well keep up the good work, you are getting there:T good luck with the healthy eating wish I had as much willpower

  • Howdy doody!!!!

Have just read my last post and just to clarify i will be doing 192 hours including overtime, not 192 hours overtime!!!! that works out at 16 12 hour shifts and 2 8 hour paper work days!!!! so its only really 6 extra days in reality, sounds so much more in hours....................................

Oh is slowly catching my drift on paying debts......he keeps wanting to leave any extra monies we get in the bank to help pay off the overdraft only to go and spend it. Have talked him round to paying off the cc's first and leave the overdraft till last when will have £400 or so (more with overtime) to leave in for the overdraft!

He gets paid tomorrow and hoping he will have a little extra for his night out a few weeks ago, he is working extra on sunday too so will have £100 or so extra to pay towards the cc (if his boss gets it right this time)

Need to do my meal plan for next week and do my shopping list. Need to find somewhere that does bulk nappies cheap..................must be somewhere on the internet!!!!

    Hope everyone is ok??

I had to check today whether it was fri 13th as have had a bad day! The car broke on my way to work!!!!!!:mad::mad::mad:

Have spent the whole day cursing and wondering how the hell on earth will be able to afford a new engine (after being told the engine had cooked due to the cambelt breaking) so cue tears and a full blown melt down in the managers office bout the debt we are in and floating just above the water level blah blah blah. Bless, its a good job she is a good manager who doesnt mind you off loading on her. It was really good though as she has been in the same situation and has said she will do anything she can to help,(as knows what a struggle it is) giving me more hours (but not loads of 12 hour shifts) and the like.

The car actually only cost £250 ish to fix but still could of done without it. Dont have quite enough in the car fund so wont be making such an overpayment to the hbos cc after all. But the car needs to go so will no doubt add to our debt buying a reliable car!
