Wooohoooo A & W can go to the party, they are currently being dunked in the bath with a bomb bath each (as they call them!) Will retrieve them in a mo and make sure their hair has been washed properly.
If I don't get back then I hope you all have a great evening whatever you decide to do and have a Happy New Year xxOfficial Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -
Well folks, I feel like Poop. Sore throat and cough... great!!!! We've cancelled going to our neighbours' house to see in the new year. All I'm fit for is curling up with a medicinal drink, and nothing too taxing on the tv! I'm not complaining though, everyone else in the house has had revolting colds. DD3 has become a snot monster!
Yuck
DD1, hormonal wretch that she is, has gone to a friend's for the night. So we've got DD2 who's being delightful and DD3 who is always better when Daddy's here. and we're having take out.... not very MSE/budgety but what they heck eh????
DD3 broke the V+ remote today   So I phoned Virgin to get it replaced.... I explained, she has Down's and didn't mean to break it, but the woman I spoke to said nonetheless I'd be charged £20 for the replacement.
Anyway, I was just contemplating calling back to discuss this point further with customer services, when my friend phoned...so I promptly forgot all about it.
However, DH came home, took one look at it and managed to fix it. So I called back Virgin who said,
"oh well, it's been ordered now, so we'll just credit back the charge to your account, but you'll still get a new remote"
Ahh well, I'm not complaining, I'll at least have a spare!!!MMSSB Club Founder Member

WHY did I decide to go to the supermarket on the way home??? (Apart from not having any food in the house of course). The farm shop is shut till next week, so I was desparate, but it was a disaster. I've got lots of stuff I don't need, and not much that I do
I have lots of good intentions this evening, but I'm not convinced I'll get that far! Like supergirl I feel like curling up in front of a dvd and having an early night!
Hope those of you who ARE being sociable tonight have a great time, and those who are hiding at home like me enjoy the peace and quiet.0 -
soappie I agree, very cold and pleased I am staying inside in the warm. Dog knows it's garden only from now as just had his evening walk and DP gone to work.
LG he's a diet onesomething I need to do (Called 'Balanced Diet'
)
Jayjay good thinking, was going to suggest putting something against it
Crafty Scholar I agree with soappie, try quidco too, I got £70 cashback for my car insurance
SarahS that sounds like my issue with the awning, they wanted to charge me for replacement (well over £100) then they lost them (I think they planned on not sending them back as told me I needed to replace them but DP said he wanted them to try to repair them) so they had to replace them free
Happy New Year to those going out, hope you all get gastly hangovers tomorrow to start the new year withme, jealous, noooo. Actually I'd probably get annoyed, drunk people tend to irritate me a lot, so probably best I am a boring fart who is staying in with a TV and Ben and Jerry's icecream for company. To all those staying in, I'll be around too
I suppose it's good I have kids now as I used to work every New Year. DPs at work, hoping his evening is uneventful, I'll be on call just incase, can't do much without car (looks like battery definately then goodness knows what else) but can call police/other drivers if necessary.
Went to the coop for the few things I needed then walked the dog. Didn't spend a lot as I hate shopping there because it's so expensive. DP needed bread rolls for work (I am yet to make them like warburtons/similar so he won't have them) eggs for yorkies for tomorrow (used the 30 I got from the farm on Xmas eve! How I don't know!) and a few other bits, spent £9.87 to add to my signature with my GC spend. Got one of the very big chickens I got from the farm before Xmas out, it's a whopper, so that's for tomorrows dinner as we won't be having roast this Sunday with it being DS1s birthday. One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200

Well today I'm afraid I've done the doing things for yourself relaxing thing instead of flying. Went out for a lovely lunch with Froddington, nipped into the Morrisons down there on the way home to have a nosey as we don't have one near us, and bought a few bits and pieces. Since being home, I've consumed quite a few danish butter biscuits given to me by a child for Christmas, and bought a new oven for our old flat to replace the one that we took with us. Now they have this rule that ovens in flats have to have a Flame Supervision Device (FSD) on them, finding an inexpensive oven was made a lot trickier, but have found a Beko one for £199 from additions. My M&D gave us £200 towards a new oven for Christmas, so we'll have 29p change after P&P.
Just wanted to wish everyone who is going out and won't be about tonight,Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
Greenbee and Lil-me and everyone else who's decided to stay home this evening. I'll be around too. I haven't been out for new years for about 8 years. Although I quite enjoy the social side, it's the hanging around for cabs home at extortionate rates that's made me decide that being home and watching new year arrive on the TV with a bottle of champers to myself is much nicer. That said, DS and DiL are staying in this evening (and no friends turning up) so I'll have company.
But, I'm polishing the paperclips. I have no idea why, but I'm nervous about making these sausages! I've prepped the meat, made the breadcrumbs, soaked the casings but something is holding me back!I am the leading lady in the movie of my life
