Could Question 10 be Liverpool?
Reason being the clock on the royal liver building - TIME
and Liverpool is supposed to be built on 7 Hills - INCLINATION?
I've tried to enter this, but I just got the following message:
Error 1 ORA-00001: unique constraint (GENAUTH.PK_PUNTER_COMPS) violated
When I go to re-enter it says that I have already entered - so not sure if I've done it right - oh well never mind!!£2021 in 2021... £253.86/£20210 -
[Wish people would stop moaning about us helping each other out with the answers as we don't all have time to spend all day & night on the net entering ALL the competitions that are posted which require loads of research.

I for one don't spend 'all day and night on the net' as you put it - I've got a FT job and other commitments like everyone else, but at the end of the day I guess it's down to personal choice as to what we prefer to do with our time. The point I was trying to make here (and goodness, aren't they're some sensitive souls on this Forum  ) is I have no issue sharing the easy-to-enter draws - not a lot of effort is required for these. The more challenging comps such as this ST one where a good few hours painstaking research is required is a quite different situation IMO. Personally, I'd find it a tad gauling having put the time in to then find the prize had gone to someone who'd just copied the answers. Sorry if this offends and goes against the spirit or whatever of this forum, but that's my opinion.
Back to the quiz and the 'port' question, I went for London but think Liverpool is probably a good shout based on the above. Damn....

Don't enter if you are so outraged - simple! That way you don't have to spend hours making painstaking research and we can enter without hearing people moan about it

It is win-win!

Come on girls (and boys!),
Dont' let a few moaning minnies put us off, we are all here to support each other, we do a hobby we enjoy and get reward from.
I for one are not going to let some person who is stuck up there own bum get to me. They don't have to come on here and can quite merrily do their own painstaking research of every question if they so wish.
Happy comping everyone and long may it continue!!!£2021 in 2021... £253.86/£20210 -
"Queen Victoria would not have been amused" that the only correct answer missing in this thread is Q10

Experienced the same problem too babs, and of course with no idea what answers (if any) have been registered
As you say "oh well never mind". 0 -
Now the Travel Quiz is ended, could someone provide the answers as published in Travel Section (Sunday Times) January 18th. Thank you.0

We thought our quiz was quite difficult, but thousands of you took up the challenge with gusto — not to mention travel know-how. Congratulations to everyone who got the questions right, but in particular to Ian Conner of Belper, who wins the ultimate photographer’s kit, worth £2,500, from Nikon (nikon.co.uk). Three runners-up, Judy Lee of Rotherham, Alex Lambie of Dollar and Rob Falconer of Penarth, each win a Coolpix P6000.
Here are the answers. (As this was a Christmas quiz, we’ve been ever so slightly lenient on a couple. Yes, we are generous.)
1 Surin
2 France, Spain, Russia
3 Law and god
4 A 5 minutes
5 B Indonesia
6 D Deepest gorge in North America
7 Sudan
8 The Gambia
9 A cornmeal snack
10 Belfast (but we accept London on a Greenwich-based technicality)
11 All were Hitchcock film locations
12 C Brazil
13 D Vickers VC10
14 B It goes up and down
15 B Rome — the airport is only nine miles away. The others are at least 40
16 Buenos Aires
17 Grenada
18 Tokyo
19 C Keep it lower than the heart
20 C Run up the nearest tree that has a trunk bigger than your arm span.
We also accepted B (run up the nearest tree full stop), on the basis that a tree slightly less thick than an arm hug is probably a better bet than nothing
21 Iran (but Turkey is also acceptable, on the basis that, as a tourist, you’re more likely to be in Turkey than Iran)
22 A Suvarnabhumi
23 C £13.5m
24 C It’s on a man-made island
25 C Australia
26 B 137
27 D Marmite
28 A Thailand; B Finland; C Australia;
D Latvia
29 A Paul Theroux; B John Steinbeck;
C Robert Louis Stevenson; D Lord Byron
30 Brigitte Bardot, St Tropez
31 Mozambique
32 C Hopi
33 B Monkey puzzle
34 Japan
35 Thailand
