I think Q21 may be Iran and not Turkey2013 wins: Valentine's book giveaway:T0

I found this question and Q20 (the elephant question) the trickiest in the quiz. After much deliberation I ended up going for option (c) purely on the basis of common sense (and assuming you can find and climb a tree before being trampled to death!), HOWEVER from the research I did, all the other options seem potentially valid. And just out of interest, the BEST way of evading a charging elephant would seem to be to run in a zig-zag pattern away from the animal (if possible at 90 degrees to it's path) on the basis they have notoriously poor eyesight and have difficulty turning at speed.
Probably doesn't help but found this..
It is understood that the party was on foot when it encountered a herd of elephant and was warned by the guides to remain still.
At that point one of the herd charged and, although the rangers told the tourists to run, Mrs Stratton was unable to evade the elephant.

I shouldn't read these when I've submitted my answers but it only adds to my self-doubt and I go back for more research, even though I can't do anything!!
Anyway- the saz question 21- I found this
Saz (Turkish Long Neck Lute)
The Saz is the grandfather of the Greek Bouzouki. It's originated in Central Asia where Turks lived before their westward migration. Like the guitar in Spain and the bouzouki in Greece, the Saz is the most popular stringed instrument in Turkey. Although similar in shape to the Greek Bouzouki, the construction, size and sound of the Saz is different. You need a baglama saz to be able to play the microtones (Perde) of Arabic music. These instruments have traditional tied frets that are movable, and 3 courses of strings.
I had put Turkey anyway!0 -

"The Saz (orginating from Persian) is a family of plucked string intruments popular in Iran, Turkey and Azerbajan"
I found the above-maybe either answer is acceptable?!

After spending hours on research and inputting answers, on pressing submit, I get a pop up saying 'Sorry, only one entry per person'. I have definitely not entered before. Have sent an e-mail to Sunday Times Travel, and will let you know if/when I get a reply.
This was in IE by the way.0 -
FAO of nwt83. I believe there are a number of questions within this quiz where the entrant has to read the clue very carefully. For instance, in Q13 the word 'commercial' is significant to determine the correct answer. Also Q21 asks In which country would you be 'most likely' to listen to the saz. I do not think you are most likely to be visiting Iran or Azerbajan, so more appropriately the answer would appear to be Turkey.
FAO of Helpmesave. It may be too late now for you to successfully enter. A pity you did not see the comments last Saturday (3rd Jan) on here, where others were having the same problem. There was indeed an option to post your entry well before the closing date.
Good luck everyone.0 -

Might Q10 be Liverpool - big clock on the Liver Building and found this
(2) Dr. William Duncan, Report on the Sanitary Condition of Liverpool (1839)
In the streets inhabited by the working classes, I believe that the great majority are without sewers, and that where they do exist they are of a very imperfect kind unless where the ground has a natural inclination, therefore the surface water and fluid refuse of every kind stagnate in the street, and add, especially in hot weather, their pestilential influence to that of the more solid filth. With regard to the courts, I doubt whether there is a single court in Liverpool which communicates with the street by an underground drain, the only means afforded for carrying off the fluid dirt being a narrow, open, shallow gutter, which sometimes exists, but even this is very generally choked up with stagnant filth.

Well thanks guys for all your hard work
I googled & used good old wikipedia to double check some of the answers as not sure on the UK Port
Wish people would stop moaning about us helping each other out with the answers as we don't all have time to spend all day & night on the net entering ALL the competitions that are posted which require loads of research.
Also if they ever googled questions they might be surprised to discover that this isn't the only forum to have members post the answers.I can remember the Samsung Funclub Forum members doing the same for the Mobile Phone competitons & some moaned on there about that too
Good luck all0
