A vote for Kefalonia from me.:T

We spent a week there at the beginning of September.
Lovely and warm, not roasting hot.
As a previous poster has said the sea is still very warm. People are very friendly, and best of all no hassle from shop and restaurant owners.
I'd recommend you hire a car for a couple of days, thats long enough to see most of the island.
Only downer is rapidly worsening exchange rate !

Pm me, your email addy, and i'll gladly send you a few photo's, to give you a flavour.
    Cheers

Just booked up our flights to Greece for next summer - in the past we have always flown BA to Athens then taken a ferry to one of the Cyclades.

The BA flights have almost doubled from what we paid last year, so have bitten the bullet and decided to fly with Easyjet to Santorini. BA wanted £664 (and would have incurred ferry costs of another £200), whereas Easyjet were £325, so a saving of over £500. So that saving will offset the weak pound nicely and provide us with accomodation for most of the holiday.

The plan is to arrive in Santorini and spend one night there - now we are trying to decide where to go for the best part of a month - we will probably do a few nights in Ios and Naxos (as we always do), but try and fit in a couple of other islands - then return to Santorini for 3/4 nights before we fly home.

    Cannot wait.
  • Me and my DH went to the island of Aegina in 2008 and loved it! It's close enough to get the ferry to the mainland and go into Athens for a day trip (or more). There are only a few developed towns on the island so isn't overcrowded. We actually hired a jeep one day and travelled around. I'd certainly recommend it. We went end of June/beginning of July and the weather was hot, but not too hot to sightsee.
  • Thanks eveyone for some good ideas and tips
  • :j my favourite Greek Island is Santorini, it has alot of history and the sunsets in Ohi are the best. We stayed in Kamari about 5 years ago and will go back as soon as we have travelled to a few other places.
