For January I am declaring £214.12 which is only £2.55 under budget but actually quite fab considering two pairs of school shoes and two pairs of school trousers were also eeeked out of this budget.Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0

Can you please tell me, as I was new for January, by when do we have to declare and where do I find the February list?
Probably stupid questions, but hey....I'm good at them!
I have to do a bit of sorting, cos I bought curtaining when I got the food shopping and other stuff too so I want to minus them. I also have added take aways too. Do you guys do that? I know I am well under so I'm chuffed!
Happy 31st all! :kisses:I don't get to come on here too often.

There's no such thing as a stupid question! we declare when our month is finished; different people have different months depending on their payday so you'll find people declaring on here quite a way in to the next month
its up to you what you include in your gc budget; some people have a separate 'social' budget and takeaways come from that; whatever works for you is fine and as long as your consistent you'll get a true picture of your gc spending. .
February list is here (its a sticky at the top of the Old Style forum index.Good luck!
... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Hello all
First month of the year already over
I will declare 115 for January (which means I can use the other 85 to overpay on my mortgage)
Have made lots of soup this month and done some batch cooking for the freezer so feeling a bit chuffed with myself as I normally detest being in the kitchen.
Spent a few pounds on some storage containers to take food to work for dinners so haven't spent any money in the works canteen
Thanks to everyone that has posted as this has helped so much xxMortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

Mrs M - Can I please declare January at £400 Which is clearly well over budget, but in my defence it was my first time of doing a big monthly shop and then weekly top-ups, which usually resulted in daily top-ups:o
I feel more prepared for Feb.:D
See you over on the Feb thread everyone:T

Hello All
I am declaring £325 for January which is only £5 over so I am pretty pleased with myself as January is such a looong dark month & comfort eating has got us through - roll on Spring.

I am declaring at £232.36. Not bad! :j£7.64 under budget! I have included this mornings shop which will not be eaten in January. So I am well chuffed.
I included all take aways and eat outs too, so none of this was taken from the social fund.
I always keep a healthy food store and it is well stocked. You never know what emergency will arise. We lived on that and our savings for 4 months when we lost our business in the last recession. :T
See you on the February board and thankyou all for your support.:DI don't get to come on here too often.

Finally added everything up and I'm very happy with my January total of £251.02 - £1.02 over budget.
Had a look at what I spend on for the first time and it has been quite an eye opener! Due to this I have changed how I will allocate my money each month and hopefully start bringing down my overall spend.
Good luck for February everyone. See you on the new thread, Kxx:xmastree:Merry Christmas0
