    Sorry.
    I just think they're ace.

I have a stream running through my garden. and I also keep chickens. Both of which attract rats.

Well, used to attract rats until I got a jack russel.
Suffice to say, they don't find it too attractive in my garden anymore.

    :)

I agree they are ace..its just about suitability to the rest of the situation. we have poultry too :)

What's your problem with Jack Russells may I ask?

Nothing. I like 'em, just not to live with. Not unlike you and I, we like each other, but wouldn't shack up :)

I'm not going to enter further discussion about this, because it's very embarrassing and I'm going straight out now with bags to the rubbish tip, but it turns out you were all correct after all.

Went into the loft last night and was wondering why my spare big bag of pipettes was open, scattered about, and many with holes in the squeezy section. Then heard the movement of small rodent feet.

Ventured further into the loft this morning and much of my stash (except the tins) have been raided.. and droppings everywhere. I only added lot of rice and stuff after being warned about the risks on this thread - so I'm really feeling stupid about it. Some of the rice and spaghetti bags are almost empty. And I wrapped rice/spaghetti in additional plastic bags with sellotape. Mice have sharper teeth and are more determined than I expected. Small black mice droppings all over - yuk. Don't tell my mum.. she'd go ballistic.

Sorry but I did read this and laugh...but in a nice way.:rotfl:

I don't have stockpiles of food and, though I got caught out in the snow, will take my chances if the worst happens. I guess I'll die quite quickly as don't have a lot of spare flesh.
Reading Asherons list I don't think I'd like to be around anyway...all that alcohol and weaponry....best not to hang around too long.

Sorry to hear about the little nibblers, Dopester. Can I ask a question though...?

Why do you have a bag of pipettes - let alone a spare one?! Maybe I've seen too many of them in labs (I'm just finishing a PhD) to be able to 'think outside the box' and see how I would use them at home! (or maybe should start to smuggle them home and put them on ebay :rotfl:)

This is one of the lovliest posts I've ever read on here. No need whatsoever to come on here and admit that you got something wrong, yet you have done and in such a nice, humble way. Made me go all warm inside it did.

A lot of posters on here could really learn a lot from you Mr Dopester. And I won't tell your Mum.

I won't embarrass him either. But just very quickly, when I was in the process of buying a house he sent me some really nice, useful messages about houses in our region. Someone who doesn't think that buying a house is a good idea at the moment (don't want to speak for you Dopester, but I'm sure that's the case!) but was still polite enough to offer advice and his opinion in a constructive way when we were buying. A lovely chap. ;)

Right, we'll stop talking about you now Dopey! And I'll get back to taking the p*ss out of you. You big stock-piling, tin-foil hat wearning, end of the world-predicting, mice-hiding, mentalist.

By the way, I'm so glad this thread is back. It should be a sticky. Let's not let it fall of the front page again hey?
