  • Wooo hooo! I made it! Its pay day today and time to get my things together for a new month!

Also, amazing news, got told yesterday that I have a new job, promotion for me and my salary will now go up (finally!)

There was a pay review whilst they were deciding about my position, so its not as much as I was expecting, but still allot more than I am on at the moment. So its very very exciting!

Only problem being now that I need to buy loads of suits/work clothes... Managed to get a skirt at Tesco yesterday for £3! And it fits wonderfully so only a few more bits and pieces and some more smart shoes and I should be ok, need to start scouring the sales as I need to start attending meetings and courses before my transfer date (which I think will be the 1st March)
  • Hi :hello:

Just ben reading through your diary...massive congratulations on the promotion  It's great to hear some good news for once!

Well, I've changed the name of my thread, so here goes!

Better start off with what I intend to do today... I've had a very lazy few days, mostly spent time with my lovely boyfriend, celebrating my new job and not overdoing things so that I shake of the beginnings of the dreaded lurgey before they really take hold.

I'm starting work at 0500 tomorrow and stupidly had a lie in this morning so need to wear myself out so that I am nice and tired for an early night tonight!

    Therefore, I shall:

Do at least two loads of washing
    Change my bed sheets
Pay in 2 cheques to the bank (13.14)
Take all my recycling to Tesco and get green clubcard points for them
Remember to take my own bags to Tescos
Do my food shopping and stick to list
Fill up with diesel - last month I spent £89 on fuel so I want to halve that this month!
Park in free car park in town and walk to the shops (means I wont buy much as I hate carrying too many bags!)
    Get my free Pret coffee
Make soup or cakes (or both?!)
Get my Boots points added onto my card
Find my Boots card first :(
Go to Primark and see if there is anything worthwhile for work clothes

Phew, gosh, that seems allot. I've already cleared out my store cupboard, fridge and freezer and made my shopping list, so best get going! Report back soon!

well done on the happy news of the new job, and even better a payrise.
can i ask about your comment of getting green clubcard points for recycling, how does this work? I know you get them for reusing bags but am wondering if i'm missing something.

Lemontree - some tescos have got recycling plants that give you a green clubcard point everytime you recycle! I took 80 Items this afternoon, not sure what the conversion rate is but I like 'feeding the machine' its a big recycling machine that crushes and sorts and squashes!

    Evening All!

Well its February and I am head on into my challenges. I made sure I took lots of food into work today and yesterday so that I didn't need to buy anything, although a cup of tea and some toast crept in yesterday. (65p)

I've been keeping an online spending diary and I was completely astounded to see just how much I spent on food and drink. Its my largest area of spend and certainly explains my waistline!

I've managed one mystery shop today on the way home from work (so fuel efficient) and got my basics; milk bread and some cream to add to a soup I shall make later on.

I made fairy cakes last night and took them into work for my team today, they went down very well! Its a toss up between carrot and coriander soup and leek and potato, I've also got some peppers to use up too... hmmm... I've got a feeling a few batches might get made up in a mo when I can drag myself off the sofa!

I've got more mystery shops to do this week and should hopefully get some overtime towards the end of the week... so defo keeping the pennies coming in rather than out this week!
