the worst car ive ever had has to be an "F" reg 1.2 vauhall nova. it looked grear gey over silver paint job with sri alloys but the front inner wings were so rotted i went through front prop shafts like petrol, infact more than petrol !
best car ever could well be a close competition between current ford focus and my last car, my beloved ford capri. if i ever get the space i will buy another capri, they are grear....work permit granted!0 -
Best cars I have ever owned: my Citroen GS which I had for 13 years from new and hardly ever a problem (doesn't work for the current heap of carp ZX though) and my beloved Renault Savanna which was written off by a rotten boy racer of near 70 who decided to overtake me whilst I was turning (and signalling) right:mad: . Also had a Vauxhall Astra Diesel Van with a huge mileage on the clock which was marvellous.
Worst cars, my first ever car was a Sunbeam Imp Sport which had a clutch with a bite like a hungry tiger and if it caught too hard it would split the "donut" on the steering that cost a fortune to replace, a Ford Orion that used to just stop for no reason and then go again for seemingly no reason and no garage or AA man could ever find anything wrong with it. My Fiat 128 was also a biatch with a similar problem, although that was that sometimes when warm it would just not start and again no-one could find anything wrong with it:mad:"there are some persons in this World who, unable to give better proof of being wise, take a strange delight in showing what they think they have sagaciously read in mankind by uncharitable suspicions of them"(Herman Melville)0 -

Ohhhh I absolutely adore Capri's too and have owned many over the years. Favourite was a black 3.0l Ghia  Not seen any around for a l-o-n-g time now though.
I think the worst car I've possibly owned was a Golf GTi (old X reg style).“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

It's a case of wanting/needing reliability these days I'm afraid. So damned hard to find a sexy 'new' car though “You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

I had a Fiat Uno, C reg, in 1997 my first car! And It was rubbish, it used cut out for no apparent reason and Id have to wait 15-20 mins for it to start again, sometimes it was water in the distributer cap, others there was no reason! Had numerous othr things go wrong with it, so next car I got was a Fiat Panda! Blame my dad, that was even worse! Had the head gasket go loads, exhausts fell off, lights used to cut out too and would have to bang the dash! Also had probs with this one cutting out too, though not as regular as the uno.
Anyway managed to sell the bl&&dy thing and then got a Ford Orion which I loved but wrote it off within 2 weeks!
Since then have always stuck to Fords, Fiestas and Escorts mainly, and I love em. Although some have been rotters, they are in the main cheap to run and fairly reliable, and if they do bu&&er up, nice and easy to fix and easy to get the parts!
IMO, NEVER have a Fiat!0 -
Austin Allegro = all that was wrong with British car making at the time in one ugly underpowered useless package

Vauxhall Omega 3.0 Elite. Goes like sh*t off a shovel, but keppps going wrong. Dumped all its bodily fluids out of a fist sized hole in the bottom of the engine at 86,000. Throws sensors like they are going out of fashion, currently off road (just before MOT due thinkfully, but after £200 spent on new exhaust) - oil cooler swoping oil and water = mayo in the water header tankPlease forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0
