Seeking laptop with XP, help needed please

The time has come to think seriously about buying a laptop. Son is temp staying at home in my room so I'm in the comp room (grand name for tiny bedroom) in a junior bed, most space being taken up my my comp desk and pc, which sadly have to go after many years faithful service.

I've searched for some days and the more I look the more scrambled my brain is, so am turning to you techie whizzes for some advice.

My spec isn't great, but have low funds..basically I do NOT want Vista so it must be XP, must have min 2 mb memory or be able to be upgraded, and absolute max £300. Not many £'s I know but that's stretching to the limit. Anyone able to help a poor relation with some (polite :p ) suggestions? Thanks, Sparrer

You are being really childish, Avent is simply a badge, as previously pointed out to you.

If OP dosn't mind second hand Bigpockets have often got laptops for under £200, need to check the stock regularly though.
Got myself a Dell Latitude 610 (They will take 2gb RAM), works a treat, just watched a matter of Loaf and Death on it.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

A badge for PC worlds own branded laptops. Once it breaks (and it will), it won't be cheap to fix.

Dell will sell you a laptop with XP but I am not sure about the price. When I was asking them I was thinking of the one that is widely advertied at about £350-390.
Due to the current conditions they might do a deal to suit your budget.
I finally went for a Sony VAIO but it's going to take me a long time to get used to
    Vista.
