excess weight takes my breath away!

Well I'm in your camp sparrer - carbs rule!
In the past I've followed the low GI diet (loosely) for quite some time and lost nearly a stone which I was quite pleased about - however I've re-gained that weight and a little more since going back to old habits ( don't we all!). I don't agree with any diet that cuts out a food group, whatever ted says.
I've come to the conclusion that life is too short to watch every mouthful. I no longer smoke, I very rarely drink and don't go out often - you've got to have some pleasure haven't you?! The more you try to avoid eating a certain food the more you crave it anyway! Or is it just me?
In short, I know the theory of getting the weight off, but have difficulty putting it into practice. No resolutions for me other than to try to eat less get more exercise.;)
BTW if you spray the perfume at tummy level it shouldn't be a problem.:wave:0 -
I don't need to starve to lose weight alas I just need to eat properly - fruit, wholegrains, vegetables etc, cut back on the dairy and the sugary stuff. None of which is rocket science and if done right it doesn't leave you hungry except for meals which is fair enough in my book. I don't think you have to starve unless you go low carb, you just need to be sensible about your carbs, plenty of oats and wholegrains, light on the white and refined stuff. But Ted is right in that you have to do what suits you and your body. As a veggie low carb is very unlikely to work for me anyway

And on the perfume, I spray it on my back
you can def still smell it but you don't get a facefull of it. I had found it was drying my skin on my neck etc but fine on the back - skin is thicker there anyway... 0 -
###############Oh bother you've amended your spelling...I spent an amusing (confuzzled
) couple of minutes wondering what he heck lunch had to do with anything! Didn't quite get round to looking up the lunch foundation though :rotfl:
Thank you for all the info/links Ted_Hutchinson, some interesting reading there. I was just kidding about the pasta/potatoes but I've just bought a bread maker and it's almost as addictive as cigarettes  . However I know I have to restrain/retrain myself, it's just a small matter of will power of which I have little when it comes to a nice fresh slice of hm bread with butter and Vegemite - at least that's not bad for me!

'Vegemite builds a nation! is the slogan forever graven in what passes for brain.
I loathe it, but use it in spag bol etc. Oz friend lives in France and I take supplies, despite being severely rebuked for inept spreading - too much, not all the way to the edges on toast. Latest report was ' Improving'.
re:weight loss - an accident forced immobility over some months 18 mths back and I joined WW last March(with difficulty for budget) and had lost 1.5 stone, when looking after s/o took me away for some months. The effect of s/o's illness meant sound regular eating was essential as building block for recovery - unfortunately, s/o wouldn't eat unless I ate, too and this lasted until October, then from Chrimbo till late Jan.
I deliberately 'let it be' because the greater need was s/'o's.
Resuming via local gym/swim and Dr's form 3/3 - induction from last year negated by new circs.
Reaching officially ancient stage last month means bus pass - removes petrol consumption as a hurdle for frequent visits.
So, I'm beginning again - can't stand seeing what I see, which was never Nature's Glory to begin with!CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:
