 HAPPY NEW YEAR Y'ALL
Not too many bad hangovers I hope.
Well what a fabulous start to the New Year (and I mean that), myself and the other half have decided to postpone the wedding until we are debt free. I suggested it and he agreed, so that will save us a few thousand this year and we can put that towards those blasted C'Cards.
I will be having a word with the registrar to see if we can move the wedding back 9 months or so without losing our deposit or having to pay the rest of the outstanding fee.
Fortunately I hadn't bought a dress yet, the only thing we will lose money on are the invites...but we did buy them for £20 on Ebay so that's not too bad.
So on this brand new day of a brand new year, what do we all have planned?
I am starting the year as I mean to go on...eating healthily, going to work and looking for the positives in everything.
Last night me and the other half watched TV until midnight and then celebrated by sharing a bottle of pear cider lol. I wasn't up to much else as I have come down with a cold and really sore throat. I have rung in work and warned them and offered to not work today but they would rather I was there than not...even if I am carrying "the plague". I am dosed up on ibruprofen and I am on my third pint of iced water so I am feeling okayish. Today I get paid double time, so I am glad they didn't want me to stay away, double pay almost makes work a pleasure.
I have done the usual daily checks, bank account, credit card balances, polls, surveys, clicks etc and now I am thinking about stripping the last of our rubber chicken to make a tasty curry for lunch. I have a jar of Tikka Masala sauce to add and some dregs of frozen veg that will be pepped up by the sauce. I am hoping that this is the last jar of sauce that I need to buy, I need to conquer making home made curry. In the freezer I have some pitta bread (always buy this for curry) it's cheaper than nan bread and had a lot less calories...however my O/H and son are having curry...I am having a chicken and chick pea stew, I do know how to spoil myself.
I was feeling quite positive about my weight loss this morning and went to have an early peep on the scales (my weigh day is Sunday), to see how much progress I had made in the last few days...and my electronic scales decided to die on me. I cannot complain though as they were over ten years old and have seen so much action. :rotfl:
So that will be one of my first purchases of of 2009, I shall be perusing the net later for the best value scales on the market...I refuse to spend a fortune though. I may even get some good old fashioned Salter dial ones, they last an eon.
Well that's about it so far...hope you all have a really productive day...wow 2009 so soon.
Take care peeps

I feel bwoody awful today...up coughing all night, temperature, headache, heart beating like an express train...you get the picture? I hate blasted colds, I am glad I am not at work today as I would not have made it in. I have only managed to drink a pint of iced water today so far, I don't even feel like eating...and that's very unusual for me.

I won't be doing much DFWing today if it means moving away from the internet, I have done all my daily checks and clicks and now I am relaxing and perusing MSE.
I start my £30 per week for groceries challenge this week and my Asda order is coming later- two weeks of groceries for £54ish. That gives me six pound for top up milk and bread during the fortnight...it will be hard to do but I shall give it a good go.
I have been telling folks that our wedding is postponed for a few months until we get fiscally sorted, however they all seem to think we are using it as an excuse as the relationship is failing and we are too ashamed to admit to it. One friend even said, "If you really wanted to get married you would sod the cost, stick it on a credit card and worry about it later." I tried to explain we have been saying "sod the cost" for the last few years hence the financial sticky patch we are in but no, if I really wanted to marry him, I would do it as planned and pay it off as and when I can.
My mother did come to my rescue and said, how would the marriage survive if in long term they lost the house because of debts...however clueless friend smiled and said "that won't happen, that's just a negative way of looking at things."
My mother rolled her eyes, realised she was wasting her time, patted me on the back of the hand and said we were doing the right thing... yes mummy dearest, I know.
I have some honey coming in my Asda order Rags, so I shall try your homemade throat blaster and report back, thank you. :T
Well I have nothing else to add, except I am full of fluglies and feeling miserable, so I may bog off back to bed.
Have a smashing day folks,

I have just ordered my scales from Argos, I won a £20 Argos voucher in October so that's the scales and delivery covered. I know I would save a fiver if I went in to town to collect them, but by the time I have paid petrol, parking and been in every other sale shop trolling for bargains I would spend a whole lot more. It's too early in my shopaholic recovery to be faced with shops that have a sale on.

So my first weigh day will be when they arrive...early next week.

hope you feel better soon bamby, i have got this cold too but not full blown this time, think my lemsips are keepin it at bay!!!
i think postponing the wedding is a good idea, you want to enjoy your day and not worry about what it cost and how your going to pay for it!!!! ignore your friend, i know people who have never got married and are happy as sin. its that type of narrow mindedness that gets us all in the debt we are in!!! (am hoping off my soap box now)
get well soon

Dry tickly cough that likes to repeat itself every 45 seconds...it's driving the O/H nuts as he is trying to watch Tv.
