Thanks gals x x I think I will start pulling my stomach muscles in (as and when I remember) they definitely need re-training...particularly after Christmas with all that yummy food.
I am going to work shortly (oh poo!) but when I get the chance Jolly, I will write down where I have saved money on our wedding so far. It wasn't too difficult to half the original estimate as we are quite happy to have a no frills ceremony but would like a feisty, big bash on the night to celebrate with our loved ones and friends. I am, however struggling to knock anything further from the current £2000 bill. But I will keep at it, every penny we save is a penny towards the CC debts.
I am taking a packed lunch to work today and will have a free tea whilst there, so food will not cost me anything today. In fact I intend to have a NSD, my purse is cash free at the moment and I totally refuse to go to the cash machine. I only have £4 in my bank account until I get paid on Thursday and I REFUSE:mad: to go into my over draft, I paid it off last month and will not be dabbling in it again if I can possibly help it.
Other than that I will not get chance to do much else, I have already checked my online banking, CC balances and hunted for polls and surveys.
Today's food menu is:
B/fast: zilch, not hungry
Lunch: home made butter bean & veg soup, three oat cakes
Tea: Baked potato, tuna & salad
Snacks: two or three pieces of fruit, small cube of cheese
I am walking to work and that takes a good hour so that's my exercise for the day...along with the tummy training suggested by RagstoRiches (thanking you x x ).
Well I better make some movement and start making my soup for work.
Have a great Sunday y'all,

hi bam
sounds like we have similar goals, i too want to get as much of my debt cleared as possible this year.
I also want to lost 5 stone so that we can start trying for a baby this time next year.
also we want to save enough so that we can cover the money we will be down whilst/if i'm on maternity leave as i'm the main bread winner.
Good luck on your goals, and have a fab wedding, ours was September and was the most perfect day of our lives. All the work we'd put in was so worth the effort.0 -
Thank you and good luck on your goals too Lemon Tree.

How have you decided to lose weight? I am going for the healthy eating and free exercise route (to save as much cash as poss). I did used to belong to Weight Watchers but found the weighing of food and point counting a bit of a faff, but it works for many people so I am not knocking it.
Like you, I will also be trying to save a bit of cash for when I am on maternity leave, otherwise we could be back in the same position 24 months down the line, up to our eye balls ( o )( o ) in credit card debt.

Ohhhh nooooooo it's Monday morning, the start of another working week.
Still if it wasn't for work I wouldn't be able to pay off these blasted CCs, so I will plaster on a huge smile
and thank my lucky stars that at least I still have a job unlike some poor folk.
Today has been quite okay so far, I am getting paid three days early again as New Years Day falls on my pay day (I get paid weekly), so when I get my wages today they will be going straight in the bank.
My wages will be going on an Asda order, six months road tax for my O/H and the rest will be going towards the CCs yay!
I went down my cupboards yesterday and found untold amounts of dried pulses and legumes, so I dragged them out and surfed the net for inspiration. I found quite a few tasty vegetarian recipes where I can use them up. I also trawled the Gillian McKeith site, I know she has a bit of a perversion for pulses and as people lose a lot of weight on her diet I thought I would pinch a few of her recipes. This lunch time I am having aduki bean stew. Oh yum! :undecided I shall let you know what it's like later lol.
I also found three boxes of herbal tea rapidly heading towards their best before date, so as waste not want not is my new middle name I am sat here slurping a fennel tea...it isn't bad actually...quite nice infact. But why oh why did I ever buy dandelion tea????? It must be circa 1995...another diet I was on no doubt, maybe dandelion tea was meant to make you drop two stone in a week back then...hmmmm.
Need to check my online banking, surveys and credit card balances today too, I am getting quite anal about this, if I am laid in bed at night and I have forgotten to do it I will get up and go and do it...maybe I have some type of OCD. I certainly did when I was buying umpteen pairs of shoes and flashy frocks on the credit cards. Come to think of it I will be doing some serious Ebaying in the next few months, half the things I never even wear.
I have put down for eight extra shifts at work over the next few weeks so that will be some more money to throw at our debts, don't think we will be getting much baby making practise in though, with all the over time me and the O/H are currently doing we will be too cream crackered.:rotfl:
Well I am off to prepare my pulse paradise stew and then I may throw on an exercise DVD for an hour...gotta keep these chubby legs moving.
Have a fan-tab-ulous day all,
Bam x x0 -
do we really believe those on mrs g's programme who claim they grow to love the aduki bean stew??? it doesnt look nice on the telly so will be interesting to see what you think of it bam........................
i have been adding cannelini (sp?) beans to my homemade soups as i blend it for my ds1 but my fella has to have bits in!!!! and as always bulk out mince and stews with lentils.
yay for the overtime, do you get time and a half or something for overtime? some places do but i have never found one that does.............
keep up the good work,
love rags

Noooooo extra for working over time (unless it's a bank holiday) but it all helps. I am working New Years Day and that's double time so I am pleased about that.
I have just had some of the aduki bean stew and it wasn't as bad as expected. The beans have a lovely nutty flavour but I did add more veggies than she suggests so I shall definitely have it again.0 -
The recipe I used was:
Aduki beans, two "past it" carrots, two onions, broccoli, cauli, shredded cabbage and one kallo stock cube (organic stock cube).
It looks a bit naff but very filling too.0 -
Hello
Just wanted to say congratulations on the upcoming wedding and getting your debts sorted - and good luck for the weight loss!!
I have just cleared my debts (as of last week!!) and am now saving for our wedding/new house and i too would like to lose 2 stone!!
I was thinking of joining WW or similar but as you have made me realise it can be done without this so may search he other forums for some help!! Good luck with it all!!
Oh and BTW - i was watching GMTV one morning (as you do) and there was some kind of sports person on there - it was years ago so bear with me lol - but the main gist of it was, the quickest way to get a flat stomach/six pack is to suck in your tummy for as long as you can, as hard/far in as you can, as often as you can - apparently its the best exercise for them!!BCT:[strike]£16,500 [/strike] £0 HFC CURRYS: [strike]£520[/strike] £0 HFC PC WORLD: [strike]£800[/strike] £0 ARGOS CARD: [strike]£795[/strike] £0 ADDITIONS DIRECT: [strike]£625[/strike] £0 NATIONWIDE CC: [strike]£1560[/strike] £0 VIRGIN CC: [strike]£1500[/strike] £0 :j0 -
Hey guys,
Hope you are all well.
Soup sounds niceish BW......I think!?! I feel bad just sat slouched over at my desk munching a packet of crisps very bored at work. Think I may have to make the effort to sit up tall, suck in those abs all day and get that flat toned tummy I dream about...have no excuse really as sat here for at least 7/8 hours a day - that's got to be some mega ab sucking time doesn't it??
I am yet to add to my diary today as busy reading others, I love reading them. So motivating! Must get on and start mine properly and I will - just need to get orgainised properly.
Have a nice afternoon xNo spend days for March = 3Money to joint savings 2009 = £100.00Money to personal savings 2009 = £0.000
