    Gud moaning all

I have just rolled in from a night shift, so if I make a barrage of mistakes...do forgive me.

Half term!!! nearly over now Sharron...you can have a headache free day on Monday. Did you do anything fun? Or even better fun and thrifty.

Those meatballs sound scrummy Rags, I shall be having a bash. I am a sucker for new recipes.

The last few days have been quite good cash and diet wise. I have had two really good diet days, eating loads of fruit, veg and no junk! I have even managed to fit in a couple of exercise sessions, so I am feeling positive about that.
On the money front we have received our cheque from Scottish Power yay!:T And will be banking it on Monday, I got a tax rebate for £57...all contributions gratefully received, we have reclaimed £15 commission from Kays so that on its way and I have paid another £150 off the pesky credit cards. That was mainly my wages but we are still making stready headway.

We keep getting a really good bargain via Asda delivery. Three times now we have ordered two small chickens and they never have in them in stock, so they send two large chickens for the same price. Also the large chickens have a couple of quid off them, so we end up getting two big fat chickens for £4.50. I shall keep doing this until they start getting the little chickens back in stock lol.

For dinner today I am doing stew and fat free dumplings. We do have this about once a week, but it goes down so well and I am using the left over stew to make some cornish pasties.

O/H has two weeks holiday off work from today so I will give him a few days resting grace and then onwards to the household jobs that need tending to.
This includes painting the lower half of the dogs room in a washable paint, I am fed up of having to scrub off muddy rain water off the walls. He also has the down stairs loo to fix, an upstairs bathroom suite to price up and tidy the huge tip that was once known as a garage.

No Jeremy Kyle today coz it's Saturday, so I think I will have my jam and toast breakfast in bed with a magazine before I nod off.
Being a truly delightful girlfriend I shall eat my toast at the O/H's side of the bed, so he can lay in the gritty bits, it's about time I got him back.

Well my bed is begging, catch up soon.

    Hi Bambiwambi

I have just read your diary from start and finish - well done you:money: You are truly an inspiration and i thought i was motivated. You and your OH must be exhausted by all the extra hours you are doing but it will be worth it in the end. If you can pay off your debts like this just think how much you can save when they are well and truly gone.:D I will be keeping an eye on your progress from now on and will add my tuppence worth every now and then if that's ok.
    Payment A Day £15 (started 17/5/14) :j

Morninggggg  ...and Happy 6th Birthday MSE...the best site in the world. :heartpuls

I don't mind the night shifts Rags, they allow me to study during the day and get housework done. Yes, my son and Mr Bamby do nickname me "The Dragon" after I have worked a night shift...but I am afraid that is part of the sacrifice until we are debt free.

And don't run down the amount you have paid off either, it's actually a greater percentage of what you planned to pay than what I have planned to pay...so you're actually doing better than me. So keep up the good work! :T

I haven't Ebayed anything for a week I am off work, I shall get back to my wardrobe and find three things to Ebay. I have some jewellery that I no longer want (again hardly worn) so that may find its way on to Ebay too.

We are having the boiler serviced today...it is so worth the £11 a month insurance to have break down cover and an annual service. Just before Christmas it leaked and water came down from our attic, through my sons bedroom and into the lounge. Fortunately it was covered by our boiler insurance, they replaced three parts at no cost. Yay!
The risk assessor at our insurance company couldn't come and see the damage until after New Year, by then in had dried out and apart from a slight mark on the lounge wall (which is in a far corner and quite unoticeable unless you're looking for it), you couldn't even tell we had a leak. So me and the O/H decided not to go forward with a claim on the house insurance...to keep our premiums down...at the moment every penny counts.
  • flipcake.gif HAPPY SHROVE TUESDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and thank you for your kind words, only wish i had the guts to go for paying off all our debt this year...........

so what are you giving up for lent (if anything)????????????

Happy Shrove Tuesday to you too...just had golden syrup and banana pancakes...yum, yum. In my defence, the bananas were black and in pre-mse days would have hit the bin and I only had two, so hopefully they weren't too calorific. Just in case I might do some exercise after Judge Judy...please note I said might. :rotfl:

Oh and I forgot to say, the boiler guy nearly refused to check our boiler (it's in the attic) he said the flooring up there is unstable and was unsure whether health & safety regs would permit him...however he bit the bullet and did the service...without falling through the ceiling.
So that's a job for Mr Bambywamby to look at, hopefully before our next annual service in 2010. I am not been sarcastic, Mr B. bless him does tend to take his time getting around to chores...there always seems to be something better to do on his days off...like snoozing on the couch or playing with the dogs.

Well I am off to watch TV and then have a long soak in the bath. Today has been a tidy up and study day, all in all we have been busy bees.

    Have a nice evening peoples

  • Think all men have that gene bread into them, my fella, dad and brother are all like that!!!!!!
wonder if the people who service your boiler would do your attic for you seen as its their regs that would stop them from doing what you have paid them to do?! is it the blue flame company?? they quoted a stupid amount for some work to my mums stating they would need to put scaffolding up outside to do the vent bit!!!! another company used a ladder for the same work.................

    Hello all you delightful peeps,

No Rags it was a company called Warmsure, however he was probably quite nervous about walking across the attic floor, it does sway a bit as you walk across it lol.

It's a very spring-like day today...garden full of birds, crocus's popping their heads through the soil and a weak sun shining over the morning dew. Back to work this aftie and tonight so I am determined to be positive with the little bit of the daylight I end up seeing.

I have just had a fresh fruit salad for brekky, I plan to have peanut butter on wholemeal toast for lunch and I am just cooking my tea to take to work, it will be a brown rice chicken salad with onion chutney. I shall be walking to work too...so that's my weight loss plan taken care of today.

I have been using Onepoll for a while (fillling in surveys for cash) but recently they have been getting very stingy...they now seem to give away Ipods (you enter a draw) rather than sterling. Ipods are not accepted by MBNA so c'mon Onepoll let's be less Scrooge like and get the cash splashed.

I have already done the usuals this morning...checked my bank balance, CC balances and I have stuck £20 in an old account to be used as a holiday fund. Hopefully by July I will be about half way through paying the debts off and will be able to take a well deserved break...even a couple of days away would be fab!

    Have a good one folks,

    Bam x x
