  • pointless claiming off royal mail, " just to keep everybody happy "
sadly life does'nt work like that.

hallnaomiuk - sold a second hand ps2 28th nov, buyer gave positive feedback, regardless what they say, they will have tested the item on delivery, then gave positive feedback, so the item worked fine !!

they even state: "item worked.......", to me, to make that statement suggests item had been in use since they purchased it.

they said it was bought for a xmas present , wrapped up, then opened on xmas day, to THEN find the item had a fault !!!
if that really did happen, they would have just said said that.
i.e :first time we tested the ps2 was on xmas day, sadly the item is faulty the disc tray will only open half way.

    Not: "it did work ........".

there is flaws in what they are saying:
it did work......suggests to me , item had been in use since purchased, and now has developed a fault.
weather the fault just happened, or kids have been rough, and damaged the disc tray, its irrelevent.

Also there is no evidence , the actual item HAS a fault, the seller got the message on boxing day, the buyer maybe seen and purchased a new PS2 (slim line) in a sale for £50 !! (maybe woolworths....lol)
and thought: i'll try and get my money back on this big old lump of a ps2 , i purchased off ebay 4 weeks ago, worth a shot.

facts are: item was second hand, sold as seen, had no warranty, and the buyer has no rights what so ever.
its a chance you take when buying second hand electrical goods.
they may work for 4 weeks, may work for 4 years. you take your chance!
if you dont want to, buy a brand new one from a shop with warranty.

if i buy a ps2 out of my local paper tonight, and it blows up in 4 weeks................. tough titty.
do i get to take it back to the person and get a refund?? sadly no.
    its no different with ebay

i may sound harsh - but its the law. Buyer has no rights to a refund.
so in theory why should they get one.
