Can I ask a question, if I wanted to make a pair of ordinary sox into slippersox, how would I make the lower surface non slip?

Hi Sheyo, I would have thought a good option might be to get some soft suede to stitch on... Most of the slipper socks I have have a plastic on them though, seems like it is melted on

thanks sian, I was wondering if perhaps I dotted on the 3d puff paint that you can get from craft shops, whether that would do it?

Hi sheyo, that's what I put on mine and it worked perfect. We've got wood floor in the lounge and tiles in the kitchen and hall and no accidents yet (touch wood).

these are great for christmas decs or gift tags http://familycrafts.about.com/od/treeornaments/ss/puxreindeer.htm you could use toddler floor puzzles to make gift tags by painting them and drilling a small hole in the corner, plain white would look sophisticated and metallic very chrismassy

The odd sock bag is nearly finished will stick that on the blog too when it's done- I'm making it for myself as a tester, then if i'm happy will try and make some as pressies.

can't wait for kemps wool order to arrive i want to try and knit some little bags to put bits and bobs in for dd to give to her friends for birthdays

has anyone come across good ideas for pressies to make for boys? got several between 5 and 10years to buy for, so far i've thought of a "jar of jokes" (ie just print off internet and put in a jar), and putting green bubblebath/ shower gel into a plastic seethrough jar with plastic bugs in it- might encourage them to wash?!?
