I just wanted to say (because I always forget) to start this month on taking photos of kiddies/grandkids etc for next xmas calendar pressies.
I want to make sure each month I take a nice pic of the kids relevant to that particular time of year (ie xmas, easter, birthdays or just a plain ordinairy month) and make sure i mark them for that month so I know what order to put them in. I really struggled for pics this year so I want to be prepared next year.
Also an idea if its the persons (receivers) birthday in that month to maybe get a pic of them together.
Any other ideas gratefully received
So I am going to take a few pics around the xmas decs and the tree etc .
I might even make notes in my calendar book so I remember (doh!)
I know this isnt a brainstorming idea but if like me you dont think of these things it might jog someone elses mind tooMPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

Mr brightside, what about doing the melted snowman jars? You fill it with all the bits that would be in a snowman and put a label on it, would be a funny one, as long as they aren't too traumatised!God is good, all the time

Mrs Brightside I love your quote about spellings. Many moons ago I wrote to a boy who would return my letters when he replied in RED he would correct my mistakes!! No he didn't last long!

You can always use a spell checker. I used it for this poem.

Not my work but I am using the idea. I have made shortbread stars and when assembles I plan to drizzle white icing over and put cranberries on the end of each point then dust with icing sugar.Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0 -

How rude of him! I'm all for good spelling, working in a classroom it's obviously a big part of my job to encourage, but I think some people just come across as rude when they offer help that isn't asked for, especially when they don't know the reasons of why the person is mis-spelling things. And I don't know why they offer English lessons in their signatures, as if people will search for their posts before they use the wrong 'they're'. Ooh I'm off on one now.. lol.help with spelling.....

Oh I think they'd like that, they're 6/7 years old so not too little to be traumatised by poor melted Frosty, they've all got a good (almost wicked!) sense of humour. I'll look this up now, thank you!0 -
Decided to make these this eve as extras for my immediate family:
The snowman poop jars are filled with white toffee bon bons and the pots of gold have a mix of gold chocolate coins & werthers originals, and a rolled up lottery scratchcard. The labels were designed in Publisher/Word using clipart. I am really pleased with them considering they were a last minute make!
I also made a larger jar for my OH from an old Gold Blend jar I had stashed away.0 -
Ooh I made fudge last night for the first time ever! I'm not sure if it's right though, as it hasn't set. I've put it in the fridge now, but my kitchen overnight was probably colder than the fridge, so not sure if it's going to do any good!0

Okay, lets see how good you all are, am making a little 'teachers survival kit' and so far I have
Plaster – To help you to heal those little hurts
Gum – To help you chew over the difficult questions
Eraser –to remind you that everyone makes mistakes once in a while.
Rubber Band – To remind you to be flexible
Paper clip - To keep things together when they seem to be falling apart
Tissue- To dry tears, yours and theirs
Button-
Pain killer- to deal with those little headaches
Tea bag- to help you chill out when you are in hot water!
Crayon- to add a little colour to a dull day
Penny-
Sugar- To remind you to say sweet in such a difficult job
Hand wipe- for those sticky little fingers!
But I need some witty thing for the gaps, help! I have about 2 hours, eek
I know someone will come up with something amazingGod is good, all the time

Serial lurker here, but thought I'd pop up to try and help - when I read button, all I could think of was my Mum telling me to button my lip, so perhaps "Button - to remember that not only they but you need to button your lip sometimes" or something a bit neater/tighter than that.
